Introduction

Working as the HSEQ Advisor, you will be responsible for supporting operations maintain high standards of safety, general health, and environmental compliance.

Roles & Responsibilities

As the Graduate HSEQ Advisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Proactively support and embed a proactive safety culture through positive engagement on site and throughout operations.
  • Provide HSEQ support and advice to the business operations as specified by the Group Head of HSEQ to ensure compliance and standards are maintained; and promote procedural changes to align with good, safe working practices.
  • To assist operational teams, develop risk assessments and safe systems of work (RIPS scheme).
  • To undertake documented HSEQ inspections and audit against IMS procedures for the business.
  • Liaison with external auditors and helping the company to maintain required certification and accreditation.
  • Assist with close-out of HSEQ queries from both internal and external sources.
  • Use site visits to gather and promote best practice across the Group.
  • Provide support to development of risk assessment, method statements, procedures and permit application supporting documentation.

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Degree in a technical, engineering or science discipline (or equivalent)
  • NEBOSH (or equivalent)
  • Environmental awareness training
  • Articulate and able to write clearly and concisely using factual based observation.
  • Understanding of environmental compliance and regulations impacting the waste sector.
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • Experience working within a HSEQ role or working with auditing/implementing management systems.
  • Full UK driving licence, willingness to travel to our sites across England and Scotland and access to a vehicle.

Deputy Group Leader (Manufacturing Control)                                        Aztec West (Bristol)                                                                                                             (3 days per week minimum) EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is a subsidiary of Edvance, which is a joint venture between EDF and Framatome, established in 2018 in charge of the design and the realisation of nuclear islands for new projects in France and worldwide. In particular, EPR-E is responsible for the design and construction of the nuclear island for Hinkley Point C (HPC) project and preparing the design replication and engineering activities for the Sizewell C (SZC) Project. At HPC we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes. For the HPC project, we are currently looking to recruit for the role of Deputy Group Leader – Manufacturing Control The UK Manufacturing Control (UKMC) team aims to provide adequate and reactive surveillance on:
  • Manufacturing documentation and In-shop manufacturing.

These activities are achieved to provide confidence to our clients (projects) and to ensure that the manufactured parts and equipment reach the expected level of quality, in accordance with the specified requirements, and can thus be delivered to nuclear sites for installation. Created in November 2021, and as part of DI (Industrial Division of EDF Group), the UKMC team is now part of EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E). Its headquarters are in Bristol (Aztec West). The main competencies of the team are Manufacturing, Materials, Welding and NDTs. UKMC current scope of work is basically all the manufacturing in the UK for new nuclear projects (UK and abroad) and the French operating fleets. But most of the work (~90%) is dedicated to HPC project, on all areas and programmes:

The Opportunity  EPR-E is a joint venture between EDF and Framatome, an EPCC established in 2018 in charge of the design (basic design) and the realization (studies, procurement, erection, testing and commissioning) of nuclear islands for new projects in France and worldwide. In particular, EPR-E is responsible for the design and construction of the nuclear island for the Hinkley Point C (HPC) project and prepare the design replication and engineering activities for the Sizewell C (SZC) Project. The role EPR-E UK Piping team is in charge of the detail design of 300km of piping network of the HPC Nuclear Island, up to the issue for fabrication and with additional support provided through to erection on site. Senior engineers within the team will be expected to adopt positions of technical responsibility and coordinate the delivery of engineering teams as required. They are also expected to participate in the mentoring and training of junior team members, and collaboration with parallel disciplines, to maintain the piping design capability of the organisation. Exact responsibilities will vary depending on technical scope and level of experience but are expected to include up to the following:  
  • Deliver the piping work packages for UK nuclear projects, ensure adherence to specifications, delivery/design processes and QA, including participation and chairing kick off meetings;

  • Hands on maintenance across the site
  • Working on a range of cranes and mobile plant
  • Driving plant availability through carrying out PPMs, reactive maintenance, and engineering improvements across the site
  • Carrying out mechanical and electrical tests in line with legislation
  • Other duties as required
  Skills & Qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:
  • Electrical maintenance experience in either the Waste industry, or a similar Heavy Industrial setting
  • 17th or 18th Edition
  • Experience with PPMs and reactive repairs
  • Knowledge of a range of plant (preferably mobile)
  • A strong team player and a health and safety conscious focus
Salary & Package What’s on offer for this exciting role:
  • Basic salary of £44,720
  • Monday to Friday 40 hours per week as standard
  • Rotational shift pattern (06:00 - 14:00 or 14:00 – 22:00)
  • Night shifts and weekend overtime paid at T1/2 or 2x
