Introduction

Our Client is one of the UK's leading provider of Environmental solutions, offering a full range of Waste and Energy Recovery services through a vast and growing network of Plants and Facilities across the country and as such they are looking for an Electrical Maintenance Fitter to join one of their key Waste Transfer Stations in London. Working as their Electrical Maintenance Fitter, you will be responsible for carrying out key planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance across the recycling facility on a wide variety of heavy plant and equipment.

 

What you will be doing

As Electrical Maintenance Fitter, you will be responsible for:
  • Preventative maintenance (PPMs) and reactive maintenance across heavy industrial plant, attending to breakdowns as needed.
  • Electrical fault-finding, diagnostics, and route cause analysis techniques
  • Working across all processing plant and overhead equipment
  • Maintenance on PLCs, motors, inverter drives, conveyors etc.
  • Testing and inspection
  • Minimising downtime, ensuring plant runs at optimum performance
  • Troubleshooting
  • Be able to deliver all work set to the operational expectations and budgetary requirements
  • Keep records using internal systems and support in the implementation of IMS.
  • Assisting with RAMS, permits to work and safe systems of work
  • Working as part of a shift pattern
  • Other duties as required.

This is rotating shift pattern of early and late shifts, covering Saturdays on a 1 in 4 basis. Please only apply if this is suitable.

What you will need
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
  • 18th Edition
  • Heavy Industrial experience – e.g. processing plant, waste, manufacturing
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering diagrams and drawings

A primarily field-based role in the Thames Valley area, the permanent full-time position will require on-site attendance to the clients' locations, dependant on the needs of the business.

 

 

Roles & Responsibilities

As the Multi-Skilled Trainee Engineer, you will be responsible for:

· Carry out regular servicing/preventative maintenance on Recycling Machinery - Primarily balers and compactors.

· To attend breakdowns and complete repairs as required on all recycling equipment at customers sites in our core regions. Within a timely and competent manner, working safely to current legislation.

· You will be required to install and decommission the equipment along with completing training with operatives on the safe use of the equipment.

· Build strong relationships with your colleagues, communicating and working together as a team to maintain customer satisfaction.

 

 

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

· Qualified or experienced field service engineer

· Experience with recycling balers and compactors essential

About the role

As our Operations Manager, you will provide leadership of the site to drive safety, compliance and a best in class performance. Leading by example, you’ll promote a positive working environment for all employees.

The Job

Working as the Electrical Project Engineer, you will be responsible for…
  • Working as part of the office-based design team with regular visits to site troubleshooting, checking and managing potential and live projects.
  • Driving successful project delivery, working alongside the Project Manager planning, establishing and coordinating the projects, carrying out electrical design works and ensuring projects are delivered to client specifications on time and in budget.
  • Collaborate with project teams to maintain profitability and efficient methods of work
  • Complete electrical designs and develop specifications for internal and external equipments required for each project.
  • Specify job requirements, parts and materials needed to enable projects to be scoped for tender and on-site delivery.
  • Survey electrical systems and plans.
  • Project budget and programme management.
  • Compliance with NICEIC requirements.
  • Manage all elements of the project delivery from initial site surveys, proposal preparations through to handover. This includes costings, proposals, specifications, ordering, fault finding, testing and commissioning.
  • Any other duties as required.

This is a field-based position requiring a flexible approach to work.

 

The Candidate

To be considered for this position candidates will be expected to have a background working in a site-based Electrical Engineer or Project Engineer position ideally within the water industry with a relevant engineering qualification to degree level (or equivalent) to back it up.
