Energy Recovery Facilities are vital in supporting the UK’s ambition to reduce waste in an efficient and effective manner, helping to reduce the impact of waste on climate change. After reducing, reusing and recycling as much as possible, our Energy Recovery Facilities (ERFs) provide the infrastructure to efficiently recover energy from residual waste, meaning landfill becomes the last resort. 

 

We have an opportunity in Bargeddie for a Maintenance Supervisor to join our team. working 40 hours per week, Monday to Thursday night shift. 

 

The salary for this role will be £37,846.00 per year, plus shift allowance and participation in a yearly bonus scheme, in addition to our great range of benefits.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and taking responsibility for your site Maintenance team colleagues, you will be accountable for the safe and effective delivery of day to day site maintenance.

 

As well as both undertaking and supervising maintenance work, you will also ensure that tools, parts and materials are fit for purpose and production downtime is minimised.   As a progressive and forward-thinking problem solver, you will also make sure all plant and equipment is continually modified and improved to maximise its availability and performance (in line with PUWER machinery safety regulations).

 

You will be a pivotal member of the team at Bargeddie attending operational review meetings where you will provide updates on live defects and ongoing improvement plans.  Your engineering expertise will see you undertake and supervise various engineering projects and provide advice and guidance to the Plant Manager and Production teams.

 

Our ideal Maintenance Supervisor will have:

 

  • Previous experience working within a process, production or manufacturing background.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate others.
  • A background in Engineering.
  • A good understanding of a proactive maintenance strategy and condition monitoring.
  • An understanding of Safe Systems of Work.
  • A high level of organisation with the ability to prioritise workloads.
  • NVQ Level 3 apprenticeship in an appropriate Engineering skill (or HNC/HND in a relevant discipline).

The role

As a Commercial Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This role offers an excellent opportunity to support business growth across our Nuclear Services and Civil Decommissioning business streams, through the provision of pre-contract commercial support.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll act as Commercial Lead on agreed bids (within the bid team). You'll cover a range of offerings from major projects to service and consultancy within civil nuclear industry, supplementing existing pre-contract capability within the business streams.

 

  • Provision of commercial and contractual support and advice across designated projects, working closely with bid teams.
  • Ensure the winning of good business – successful tenders which balance risk and reward.
  • Lead ensuring that any submissions are compliant with corporate governance procedures.
  • Negotiate customer contracts and work closely with Procurement to ensure flow down of key terms.
  • Derive commercial solutions to bid requirements such as commercial tender query responses, KPIs, pricing schedules.
  • Generate bids showing appropriate margin returns with credible delivery plans.

Essential experience of the Commercial Manager

  • Experience of working within highly regulated industries
  • Experience of NEC3/4 contracts, preferably the ECC (Engineering & Construction Contract)
  • Experience with Government customers / PCRs (Public Contract Regulations)
  • Customer facing experience (unable to consider anyone with subcontractor / supplier facing experience only)

  • Supporting the process operators within the plant, effectively operating the SCADA systems effectively for all fixed plant across the site.
  • Ensuring the site is running in line with production plans and KPI’s, prioritising task and escalating any issues as required.
  • Coordinate a shift of process operators, managing work-load to cover the plant and utilising resources where required.
