Senior Quantity Surveyor   Permanent Northeast London £65,000-£70,000 + Benefits About the role: Astute’s Power team is currently partnering with an EPC Contractor on a new build Energy from Waste facility to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor for its Northeast London site. The Senior Quantity Surveyor role comes with a flexible salary from £65,000 - £70,000 + plus pension, life assurance, private health care and a great holiday package. Responsibilities and duties:

• Reporting to the Subcontracts & Commercial Managers you will:
• Be aware of the subcontract’s status and scope and report to Project Team.
• Develop and maintain Correspondence Log with the Subcontractors and inform of any changes on Cost of Time from/to sub-contractors that may become a Client Change Order.
• Suggest corrective actions from/to sub-contractors that would be effective on time and cost.
• Ensure all BOQ are updated in line with the last IFC drawings received.
• Inform both Project Team and Subcontractors about FEWO (Field Extra Work) procedure.
• Inform to Subcontractors about approval or contractual reasons for rejection and/or modification of any submitted FEWO.
• Develop and maintain the FEWO Log for Subcontractors under your control.
• Evaluate and study under contractual basis, all the Compensation Event (CE) submitted by the Subcontractors; this activity will be coordinated with the Construction team.
• Inform to the Subcontractor, about the approval or the contractual reasons for the rejection and/or modification of any CE submitted.
• Develop and maintain the CE Log for the subcontracts under his/her control.
• Inform to the Project team about the Bach-charges (BC) procedure.
• Prepare the BC Notices to the Subcontractors and ensure the contra-charges are applied.
• Inform to the Project team and Subcontractors about the Contradictory Price (CP) procedure.
• Evaluate and study under the contractual basis, all CP submitted by the Subcontractor.
• Develop and maintain the CP Log for the subcontracts under your control.
• Inform to the Subcontractor, about the approval or the contractual reasons for the rejection and/or modification of any PA submitted.
• Issue of the Payment Certificates (PC) to the Subcontractors.

Professional qualifications: We are looking for someone with the following:

• Educated to a degree level or equivalent (BSc Quantity Surveying preferred)
• Main Contractor experience desired
• Knowledge of building and construction.
• To be based at Site (London, UK)
• Project experience within Energy from Waste, OCGT, CCGT, Power Stations.

Astute’s Power team is partnering with a leading Principal Contractor in the Energy from Waste sector to recruit a Completions Engineer on a 12 month minimum contract for its West Midlands site. The Completions Engineer role comes with a day rate of £500.00.             Key skills  

• Oversee final stages of the project reporting into Site Manager on site.
• Ensure all systems and components are installed and tested to correct standards.
• Site walks with client and subcontractors to create snagging lists.
• Oversee sub-contractors to ensure issues are resolved and working on time.
• Maintain records of all activities and identify and resolve issues during completion phase.
• Ensure all activities adhere to H&S regulations.
• Must ideally hold EfW experience, working with or hold an understanding of working for a Principal Contractor.

• Preparing areas on site to be insulated
• Fitting insulations to engineering plans
• Secure and fasten insulation and sealing work areas after
• Work closely with Thermal Insulation Labourer on day -to – day basis
• Adhere to all general H&S on site
• Must hold TICA /NVQ and either CSCS / CCNSG
• Site experience in either Oil & Gas, Energy, Nuclear, Waste Management or similar

• Helping and support engineers on site with materials and general insulation works
• Adhere to all general H&S on site
• Must hold either CSCS / CCNSG
• Site experience in either Oil & Gas, Energy, Nuclear, Waste Management or similar

Document Controller Enfield £200-£250 Per Day 12 Months Min     About the role: Astute’s Power team are currently partnering with a Principal Contractor to recruit a Document Controller on for a site of theirs near Enfield. The Document Controller role comes between £200-£250 per day.                   Key skills: · Manage and file all project information within document management system (Documentum D2) · Ensure all project information is accurate and up to date. · Guarantee that required quality management standards are met and that the Project requirements are respected. · Provides support and training for Documentum D2 users.

Astute’s Power team is partnering with a leading principal contractor in the Energy from Waste sector to recruit a Steel Structure Supervisor on a 12 month minimum contract for its London site. The Steel Structure Supervisor role comes with a day rate of £450.             Key skills

• Lead execution of steel structure works, ensuring compliance with project drawings, specifications, and standards.
• Identify and address potential delays, technical challenges, or resource issues to avoid disruptions.
• Supervise and coordinate the assembly, erection, and installation of steel structures in accordance with NAECI regulations and project specifications.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to plan and execute tasks effectively.
• Must have experience supervising steel structure erection in infrastructure projects.
• Must also hold an SSSTS / SMSTS and CSCS card.
• NAECI (National Agreement for the Engineering Construction Industry) training or certification is also highly desirable for this role.

• Installation of HV supply packages
• Experience managing multiple subcontractors.

• Have had experience working with 11kv power supply's
• Document day-to-day activity for the Electrical Install.
• Ideally have project experience such as Energy from Waste is a desirable.
• Ability to organise and manage time effectively.
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work well with other teams within the company
• Ability to show good leadership
• A good understanding of the hazards which may arise during the work and the precautions which need to be taken
