  • Act as the main technical adviser on a construction site for subcontractors, craftspeople and operatives
  • Set out, level and survey the site
  • Check plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculation
  •  Liaise with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project

Astutes Power Team are currently recruiting an HSE Manager to join an Industrial Wastewater Treatment (WWTW) plant in London. The HSE Manager role offers the opportunity to lead all health, safety, and environmental activities on-site, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices on a major industrial project with a leading Principal Contractor.   The HSE Manager role is paying between £550-600 per day.      Key skills required for the HSE Manager role 
  • Lead the management of all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) related activities across the project as part of the management team, and in accordance with CDM2015 and the DEL integrated management system.
  • Develop, implement, and update as necessary, the Construction Phase Plan, Construction Environmental Management Plan, and associated HSE documents throughout the life of the project.
  • Advise Project Director of all incidents reportable under the companies recordable incident guidelines and R.I.D.D.O.R. in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring that the project is aware of and complies with all legislation in relation to the use of its plant and equipment, as well as workplace activities, and that the project meets its statutory and industry obligations in respect to industrial and safety matters at all times.
  • Must hold previous water industry experience and worked as a primary / principal contractor.
  • Must hold BSc/NEBOSH Diploma

  • Demonstrates leadership and commitment to Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ)
  • Intervenes in a strong and persuasive manner in HSE matters on site
  • Can competently advise on HSE matters at all levels within the project organisation
  • Provide technical support to the persons responsible for safety on the construction sites

Astute’s Power team is partnering with a leading principal contractor who are looking to recruit a Civil Quantity Surveyor with an engineering background on a long-term contract for its Wastewater Treatment project in North east of London.        Key skills required for the Civil Quantity Surveyor    
  • Supervise and verify compliance with quality standards during the construction phase of the wastewater treatment plant.
  • Ensure that civil engineering works comply with applicable international regulations, project specifications, and internal quality standards.
  • Implement quality control plans and internal auditing processes to ensure consistency and performance of on-site activities.
  • Review and approve quality documents, including procedures and inspections.
  • Review contractual aspects with the client to coordinate claims.
  • Conduct internal audits of the project to identify any deviations.
  • Ensure proper execution of material and construction process quality inspections.
  • Must hold excellent communication skills to manage relationships at various levels with the client and other disciplines involved in project execution
  • Must have a background as a Qualified Engineer / Engineering background

  • Install thermal and acoustic insulation on pipework, ducting, and vessels to specification
  • Measure, cut, and apply insulation materials
  • Fabricate and fit sheet metal cladding
  • Use abrasive wheels and power tools safely to cut and shape cladding materials
  • Work at height using appropriate access equipment in accordance with safety standards
  •  Adhere strictly to health & safety protocols, including proper use of PPE
  • Collaborate with site teams to meet deadlines and maintain project efficiency
  • Ensure all work complies with industry standards and site specifications
