  • Responsible for the successful delivery of water projects within our Water Projects Construction Team, by leading your team to meet or exceed the project objectives, including for health, safety and quality, scope, cost, programme, risk and stakeholder satisfaction
  • Diverse range of projects across infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects for clean and wastewater
  • Working on projects in Aldermaston and Salisbury Plain region, although opportunities may be forthcoming nationally.
  • Collaborating with and coordinating our specialist internal teams and managing our external supply chain partners to successfully deliver their responsibilities
  • Ensure site construction and commissioning activities are compliant with regulations and permits and Veolia internal procedures.

The HSE Manager role offers the opportunity to lead all health, safety, and environmental activities on-site, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices on a major industrial project with a leading Principal Contractor.   The HSE Manager role is paying between £550-600 per day.      Key skills required for the HSE Manager role 
  • Lead the management of all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) related activities across the project as part of the management team, and in accordance with CDM2015 and the DEL integrated management system.
  • Develop, implement, and update as necessary, the Construction Phase Plan, Construction Environmental Management Plan, and associated HSE documents throughout the life of the project.
  • Advise Project Director of all incidents reportable under the companies recordable incident guidelines and R.I.D.D.O.R. in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring that the project is aware of and complies with all legislation in relation to the use of its plant and equipment, as well as workplace activities, and that the project meets its statutory and industry obligations in respect to industrial and safety matters at all times.
  • Must hold previous water industry experience and worked as a primary / principal contractor.

  • Prepare and issue permits to Work and system isolations for works within the shift

This position is available on either a part time or full-time basis across sites in Birmingham and Northeast of London. The CDM Manager role comes with a day rate of £550-600. Key skills:
  • Undertake suitable pre-qualification exercise and advise Project Engineering Manager in respect of project competency status.
  • Manage CDM compliance throughout the project duration.
  • Identify & Manage pre-construction information (PCI): Review PCI available and, where applicable identify gaps in content and formal communication of the same.
  • Undertake assessments arising from all design stakeholders and manage/coordinate H&S information as applicable. Designer residual risk will feed into the Project Risk Register.
  • Develop and manage the project H&S file strategy.
  • Feed PCI into the mobilisation process and collaborate with Contractors (including PC’s) in the development of design risk information and constructability reviews.
  • Produce and deliver project specific CDM, or other training where a need is identified, including to offshore (non-UK) design organisations.
  • Advise on CDM related issues such as design change, material (COSHH) issues and arising from unforeseeable events.

  • Reporting to the Subcontracts & Commercial Managers you will:
  • Be aware of the subcontract’s status and scope and report to Project Team.
  • Develop and maintain Correspondence Log with the Subcontractors and inform of any changes on Cost of Time from/to sub-contractors that may become a Client Change Order.
  • Suggest corrective actions from/to sub-contractors that would be effective on time and cost.
  • Ensure all BOQ are updated in line with the last IFC drawings received.
  • Inform both Project Team and Subcontractors about FEWO (Field Extra Work) procedure.
  • Inform to Subcontractors about approval or contractual reasons for rejection and/or modification of any submitted FEWO.
  • Develop and maintain the FEWO Log for Subcontractors under your control.
  • Evaluate and study under contractual basis, all the Compensation Event (CE) submitted by the Subcontractors; this activity will be coordinated with the Construction team.
  • Inform to the Subcontractor, about the approval or the contractual reasons for the rejection and/or modification of any CE submitted.
  • Develop and maintain the CE Log for the subcontracts under his/her control.
  • Inform to the Project team about the Bach-charges (BC) procedure.
  • Prepare the BC Notices to the Subcontractors and ensure the contra-charges are applied.
  • Inform to the Project team and Subcontractors about the Contradictory Price (CP) procedure.
  • Evaluate and study under the contractual basis, all CP submitted by the Subcontractor.
  • Develop and maintain the CP Log for the subcontracts under your control.
  • Inform to the Subcontractor, about the approval or the contractual reasons for the rejection and/or modification of any PA submitted.
  • Issue of the Payment Certificates (PC) to the Subcontractors.
Professional qualifications: We are looking for someone with the following:
  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent (BSc Quantity Surveying preferred)
  • Main Contractor experience desired
  • Knowledge of building and construction.
  • To be based at Site (London, UK)
  • Project experience within Energy from Waste, OCGT, CCGT, Power Stations.
