Working as the Mechanical Project Engineer, you will work as part of a core team in the delivery of a busy portfolio of robust engineering solutions across various wastewater and clean water contracts in the South.

The Job

Working as the Mechanical Project Engineer, you will be responsible forโ€ฆ
  • Working as part of the office-based design team with regular visits to site troubleshooting, checking and managing potential and live projects.
  • Driving successful project delivery, working alongside the Project Manager planning, establishing and coordinating the projects, carrying out mechanical design works and ensuring projects are delivered to client specifications on time and in budget.
  • Collaborate with project teams to maintain profitability and efficient methods of work
  • Complete mechanical designs and develop specifications for internal and external equipmentโ€™s required for each project.
  • Specify job requirements, parts and materials needed to enable projects to be scoped for tender and on-site delivery.
  • Survey Mechanical systems and plans.
  • Project budget and programme management.
  • Compliance with NICEIC requirements.
  • Manage all elements of the project delivery from initial site surveys, proposal preparations through to handover. This includes costings, proposals, specifications, ordering, fault finding, testing and commissioning.
  • Any other duties as required.

This is a field-based position requiring a flexible approach to work.

The Candidate

To be considered for this position candidates will be expected to have a background working in a site-based Mechanical Engineer or Project Engineer position ideally within the water industry with a relevant engineering qualification to degree level (or equivalent) to back it up.

Candidates should have strong CAD knowledge as well as demonstrable success delivering projects and a proven track record working directly with clients on project designs and coordination.

Due to a high level of travel to various sites throughout this role, candidates must hold a valid full UK driving licence and be flexible in their working hours.

The successful candidate will have a significant voice within Augean and their advice will be listened to and will influence the future development of the company. We are looking for an environmental advisor with experience in the waste sector to join our established Corporate Stewardship team, supporting the business on all matters related to environmental compliance, permitting and planning and environmental social and corporate governance (ESG), across our business. This role is vital in providing key advice, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and guidance across the waste planning and permitting spectrum. The knowledge and capability of the successful candidate will contribute to managing Augeanโ€™s relationship with the environment and our neighbours, on society and on the economy through the development and implementation of appropriate reduction targets for environmental, social and corporate governance reporting commitments and guiding our path to net zero. The Role The role reports to the Head of Planning and Permitting. The Environmental Advisor will be responsible for:
  • Working in the Corporate Stewardship team to provide technical support on all environmental compliance matters across our sites.
  • Providing waste compliance advice for new business acquisitions and site development strategies.
  • Providing competent and accurate advice to the business on environmental, waste regulatory and waste planning issues, using core knowledge on regulatory requirements and the potential future impacts that changes to legislation or guidance may bring.

An understanding of the hazardous waste sector would be beneficial. Knowledge of the social and environmental impacts, resource efficiency and carbon saving opportunities and sustainable waste management practices facing the waste sector would also be beneficial. Candidates are likely to have developed previous experience working within the process, waste management or hazardous waste sector; or indirectly as an environmental consultant or regulator. Role Responsibilities

As the EC&Iย Supervisor you will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Managing the day to day maintenance activities across the new polymers recycling facility.
  • Supervisingย a shift team of multi-skilledย technicians and contractors to maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of the team and ensure work is carried out to the standard required.
  • Driving and implementing all PPM schedules as well as carrying out maintenance, both preventative and breakdown, on all equipment on the site to reduce operational down time.
  • Managing the installations and refurbishments of equipment on-site and supporting initial commissioning services.ย 
  • Take part in Root Cause Analysis activities (RCA) to identify the cause of failures and actions to prevent future failures increasing plant up time
  • Communicate shift performance and activities through the shift report and handover process to effectively communicate issues to the management, engineering and production teams
  • Maintain the workplace, tools and engineering facilities to prevent hazard and risks in the workplace and to promote effective engineering practices

The Ideal Candidates

To be considered for this position you will need to have a recognised Level 3 NVQ/HNC/HND within Electrical Engineering or equivalent with a strong understanding of a variety of controls and instrumentation equipment.ย 

You will have previous demonstrable experience supervising a team of multi-skilled engineers in an industrial operational facility/industry (ideally Waste Management, Power Generations, Aggregates, Manufacturing, FMCG etc). You will have knowledge of CMMS systems and a good understanding of a proactive maintenance strategy and condition monitoring as well as strong health and safety knowledge.ย
