Duties and Responsibilities for Forklift Operator:

  • Performs a safety check of the forklift to ensure it is safe to operate. Checks fluid levels- For oil, water and fuel before operating the lift- 
  • Ensures the packaging lines have empty pallets available and informs the supervisor of the pallet inventory- 
  • Removes palatalized bags from the production lines and places them on the stretch-wrapper 
  • Operates the stretch-wrapper and changes the stretch film as required- 
  • Places palatalized bags in inventory and ensuring they are located in the proper rows storing them neatly without damaging other inventory- 
  • Actively participates in plant cleanliness by re-stacking, picking-up trash and debris, and washing their equipment- 
  • Reads the BOLs and places the correct quantity and SKU on the carriers trucks in a safe and efficient manner. Any changes to the BOLs must be communicated to the Dispatcher and or office personnel-
  • Performs physical inventory counts of finished goods as required- Meets quality and quantity standards-
  • Responsible for the safe operation of the forklift and maintaining fluid levels

Production Worker / Packaging Operator Responsibilities:
  • The packaging operator is required to perform two functions: the bagging operation and the baler operation. The packaging operator must maintain the ability to perform both bagging and baler functions as determined by the Shift Leads
  • Operate machinery in a productive manner using the established safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Responsible for assisting other production areas, as needed.
  • Move and wrap completed products.
  • Will be lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for a minimum of 7 hours per day
  • Assist the Shift Leads to start and stop the pellet mills.
  • Communicate any moisture or material problems to Shift Lead.
  • Maintain a clean workstation.

 The Bagging Operation:

  • Responsible for operating a variety of machinery, primarily bagging and baler machines, shrink wrapping machines, forklifts, pallet jack, and bag sealer.
  • Stacking bags on pallets, putting covers on pallets and placing finished goods in the correct warehouse location.
  • Position requires accurate completion of the Bagger production report, filling pellet sample cups every ton for quality control information, and tagging pallet with Quality Control tag with initials, date, ton number, and the shift the pallet was completed.

Production Worker / Packaging Operator Qualifications/Education:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior forklift and production line experience preferred.
  • Will require good eye, hand, and foot coordination.
  • Will need to pass the company forklift training.
  • Required to read and interpret scales.
