Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Senior Tax Accountant:
  • Ensuring that the general ledger accounting functions for property and gross receipts taxes are performed accurately and timely.

  • Working closely with a third-party consultant to manage and monitor the real and personal property tax compliance processes.

  • Preparing, filing, and remitting payments for gross receipts returns in accordance with tax laws in various jurisdictions.

  • Coordinating with outside third-party tax providers to ensure tax filings are completed, filed in a timely manner, and compliant with federal, state, and local jurisdictions.

  • Reviewing and analyzing monthly income statement and balance sheet activity for property and gross receipts tax accounts to identify unusual trends or variances.

This role is a 3-month contract with the possibility of extension. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.

Required Skills for Senior Tax Accountant:
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience, with at least 1 year in a financial or Accounting role.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced skills in Excel.

  • Experience with Systems, Applications, and Product (SAP) and Business Objects data management software, and OneSource Property Tax is preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
