Our plastics reprocessing facility in Avonmouth, Bristol will reprocess over 80,000 tonnes of plastic every year - more than 1.6 billion bottles, tubs, and trays – creating recycled raw material to return to the economy. Plastic recycling at the facility will save 126,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year, the equivalent of taking over 67,000 cars off the road

We have a new opportunity for an Execution Engineer to join our team at out new Polymers facility in Avonmouth, Bristol for 42.5 hours pr week, from Monday to Friday.

The salary for this role is circa £54,000 per year, plus participation in a yearly bonus scheme, where you could earn up to 10% of your base salary.

About the role

The Execution Engineer will be part of our multi-disciplinary maintenance team and will play an integral role in the delivery of the maintenance strategy at our Avonmouth Polymer Reprocessing Facility. The primary purpose of this role is the effective execution of breakdown and corrective maintenance work, as well as supporting the root cause analysis process to implement preventive actions to improve overall plant availability.

Working collaboratively with EC&I engineer, Mechanical Engineer and the Maintenance Planner, the Execution Engineer will lead the site multi-functional maintenance team to execute planned and reactive maintenance activities to ensure machine condition, availability and standards are maintained.

The Execution Engineer will provide technical support/governance to ensure improvement projects are executed to the correct standards and in line with site plan, as well as owning the statutory inspections.

In addition, this role will be responsible for ensuring a positive safety culture is upheld at all levels and financial targets are met within their department

What are we looking for?

• Understanding in a mechanical/electrical engineering role from areas such as FMCG/ manufacturing/ waste management.
• Full working understanding and ability to lead root cause analysis (RCA) and provide effective engineering solutions
• Ability to successfully manage and deliver on multiple tasks with competing priorities and strict time lines
• An experienced Mechanical/Electrical Engineer with relevant background and level of expertise, with a focus on plant maintenance
• Experience of developing technical solutions from concept selection, through design development, installation and commissioning.
• HNC/HND qualified in a Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or in a closely related subject

• Supporting the commercial team, ensuring all customer enquiries are dealt with efficiently, achieving a high standard of customer care with both new and existing customers.
• Obtaining all relevant information surrounding incoming enquiries to support with pricing, allocation and routing of waste materials.
• Using technical knowledge to assess waste and choose most suitable disposal outlets for waste streams.
• Compiling lists of wastes’ to be transferred off site to third party disposal points, sending quotation requests to obtain best disposal costs.
• Ensuring accurate costings in line with all permit conditions and legislation, using Quick Consign systems to produce accurate quotes for customers.
• Work to meet site targets for processing, producing monthly reports for key accounts.
• Promoting the business within the waste management market, recognising new business opportunities.  
• Undertake all administration tasks as needed and any other tasks.

• A degree in process engineering, industrial engineering or mechanical engineering
• 10 years’ experience in design engineering
• You will come from a heavy industrial facility i.e. plant, lab, reactors, manufacturing
• 5 years’ experience of technical management

• Assessment of the layout engineering data for the building including process and instrumentation, equipment, cable and electrical information. Ensuring analysis and verification of the technical scope.
• Implement layout engineering to improve and/or modify the design where needed to input various electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Work with the wider team to assess the routing of piping, cable trays and HVAC ducts within the 3D Model.
• Produce technical documents such as status reports, introduction notes, design procedures and change analyses
• Coordinate with other relevant teams for the layout activities, sharing layout drawings and plans
• Where possible look to anticipate and adapt to changing needs of the project, keeping all parties updated and on track with progress and modifications.

• Engineering Degree relevant to role
• Experience in at least one of the following areas of engineering: Electrical Layout, Electrical, HVAC, mechanical, safety etc.
• Nuclear experience is highly desirable in particular projects involving PWR.
• Previous experience working with 3D design software (e.g. Navisworks, AutoCAD, PDMS and/or E3D)

• Knowledge of Electrical and general layout requirements for heavy industrial projects
• Confident in challenging ideas and designs for effective solutions to meet the requirements for all levels of stakeholders

• Operating mobile plant and on-site equipment such as Front End Loader, 360 or 180 Excavators.
• To carry out a variety of manual, machine operated duties across the waste processing site.
• To ensure the maintenance and operation of all site equipment is carried out in a compliant manner.
• To report any defects using the approved system.
• Supporting in the pre-sorting and sorting of the waste recycling material, feeding material into the processing machinery as required.
• Ensuring that Risk Assessments and Safe operating procedure are adhered to at all times.
• To carry out any reception or front of site duties needed when required.

• Knowledge of relevant plant and industrial machinery including operation of the plant and first line maintenance experience.
• Experience operating mobile plant and on-site equipment such as Front End Loader, 360 or 180 Excavators. A formal certification NPORS (or equivalent) would be desirable.
• Excellent health and safety understanding.
• Previous experience working in the waste industry or a similar heavy industrial sector.
