Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Health Physics Monitor to support radiation protection activities across the site. The successful candidate will be responsible for working to support the appointed RPA on-site for monitoring radiation levels, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and supporting operational teams to maintain a safe working environment. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out routine and non-routine radiological monitoring and contamination surveys.

• Assist in the implementation of radiological protection measures and controls.

• Operate and maintain radiation monitoring equipment.

• Support investigations into radiological incidents or alarms.

• Record and report monitoring data in accordance with regulatory and site-specific requirements.

• Provide front-line support to operational staff regarding radiological safety and best practice.

• Participate in emergency response drills and actual events as required.

Requirements:

• Relevant qualifications or experience in radiation protection or health physics monitoring (e.g., RPA2000-accredited training or equivalent).

• Strong understanding of radiological safety principles and regulations.

• Good communication skills and a proactive approach to safety.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a regulated environment.

• Collaborate with account managers, administration staff and operations to ensure seamless service delivery and contract management.
• Manage the tender process, including document reviews, tender writing, financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with Tender Governance procedures.
• Prepare and present compelling commercial proposals, quotations, technical descriptions, and service specifications to customers.
• Promote a safety-first culture and actively contribute to the company’s health, safety, and environmental initiatives.
• Represent the business at stakeholder events and ensure compliance with company policies, including security, data protection, and equal opportunities.
• Perform other duties as reasonably required to support business objectives.

  Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:

• Technical expertise in hazardous/chemical waste with previous experience selling into the sector.
• Proven ability to manage customer accounts with sales revenue exceeding £1 million per annum.
• Flexibility to travel and carry out overnight stays where required.
• Strong commercial acumen, a track record of profitable new business, and a commitment to high levels of customer service
•  Full UK driving licence.
• Degree qualified or proven sector experience in business development and sales in hazardous wastes management.

• The maintenance, service and repair of various specialist water treatment equipment including standard base exchange, filtration, deionisation, reverse osmosis and laboratory water treatment products.
• Installation, removal and commissioning of the equipment on-site.
• Understand the water treatment process, product and technical issues with an ability to fault find using first line investigation techniques.
• Contribute to financial sales targets by recommending and quoting the necessary added value spares, refurbishments and consumable items to maintain the customer's equipment in optimum operating condition.
• Performing out of hours and breakdown cover when required.
• Assisting clients with technical faults.
• Completing risk assessments, activity reports and other documentation as required.
• Offering after sales technical support.

    Skills & Qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:

• Minimum Level 2 Engineering qualification
• Full UK Driving license
• Industrial maintenance experience
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Willingness to learn

• Hands-on experience with finite element tools.
• Familiarity with UK design standards and regulatory processes.
• Proficiency in ANSYS and special piping component calculations (fixed points, endplates).
• Experience with RSTAB, BEAM STRESS, and support calculations and CALTUY/Pipestress software.  
• Knowledge of RCC-M code (section C3650) and damage modes.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in piping calculation.
