Our client is a global leader in environmental solutions who provides a comprehensive range of waste management services throughout the UK. They are currently looking to recruit a Site Supervisor to join their Transfer Station and MRF team in Luton. Working as the Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations across the waste processing facility, including health, safety and compliance, environmental management, operational delivery and supporting the site teams.

 

 

Roles & Responsibilities

 

Working as the Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for:
  • Managing the day to day operations of the Waste Collection contract, monitoring waste in and waste out, ensure all operations are in line with company targets, client expectations and KPI’s.
  • Ensure the team are managed accordingly, providing support and feedback where needed. Including the induction of new hires and adhering to HR requirements.  
  • Managing all site staff including temporary workers and contractors, ensuring delegation of work.
  • Drive and implement the company SHEQ policy across the sites and ensure best practice is performed at all times.
  • Conduct risk assessments, site inspections and accident/incident and near-miss investigations where appropriate.
  • Responsible for all transport and logistic requirements across sites, ensuring all vehicles are fully equipped and meet the required standard.
  • Supervise the plant operatives, supporting with the operation and maintenance of plant as required. Including loading shovel, tele-hander and tele-truck.
  • To be an ambassador of the company ensuring all materials are maximised and reach the correct purpose.
  • All other duties as required.  

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

 

  • Experience of working in the waste management industry is advantageous, knowledge of the heavy process sector is essential.
  • Previous experience working in a senior role, managing operations of a site/sites
  • Strong Health and safety knowledge
  • Analytically minded and sound Problem-solving skills
  • A full, valid driving licence

As such they are looking for an Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation Supervisor to join their brand new Polymers Recycling Facility based in Avonmouth.   

Role Responsibilities

As the EC&I Supervisor you will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Managing the day to day maintenance activities across the new polymers recycling facility.
  • Supervising a shift team of multi-skilled technicians and contractors to maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of the team and ensure work is carried out to the standard required.
  • Driving and implementing all PPM schedules as well as carrying out maintenance, both preventative and breakdown, on all equipment on the site to reduce operational down time.
  • Managing the installations and refurbishments of equipment on-site and supporting initial commissioning services. 
  • Take part in Root Cause Analysis activities (RCA) to identify the cause of failures and actions to prevent future failures increasing plant up time
  • Communicate shift performance and activities through the shift report and handover process to effectively communicate issues to the management, engineering and production teams
  • Maintain the workplace, tools and engineering facilities to prevent hazard and risks in the workplace and to promote effective engineering practices

The Ideal Candidates

To be considered for this position you will need to have a recognised Level 3 NVQ/HNC/HND within Electrical Engineering or equivalent with a strong understanding of a variety of controls and instrumentation equipment. 

You will have previous demonstrable experience supervising a team of multi-skilled engineers in an industrial operational facility/industry (ideally Waste Management, Power Generations, Aggregates, Manufacturing, FMCG etc). You will have knowledge of CMMS systems and a good understanding of a proactive maintenance strategy and condition monitoring as well as strong health and safety knowledge.

Working as their Electrical Maintenance Fitter, you will be responsible for carrying out key planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance across the recycling facility on a wide variety of heavy plant and equipment.

 

What you will be doing

As Electrical Maintenance Fitter, you will be responsible for:
  • Preventative maintenance (PPMs) and reactive maintenance across heavy industrial plant, attending to breakdowns as needed.
  • Electrical fault-finding, diagnostics, and route cause analysis techniques
  • Working across all processing plant and overhead equipment
  • Maintenance on PLCs, motors, inverter drives, conveyors etc.
  • Testing and inspection
  • Minimising downtime, ensuring plant runs at optimum performance
  • Troubleshooting
  • Be able to deliver all work set to the operational expectations and budgetary requirements
  • Keep records using internal systems and support in the implementation of IMS.
  • Assisting with RAMS, permits to work and safe systems of work

We are looking for an environmental advisor with experience in the waste sector to join our established Corporate Stewardship team, supporting the business on all matters related to environmental compliance, permitting and planning and environmental social and corporate governance (ESG), across our business. This role is vital in providing key advice, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and guidance across the waste planning and permitting spectrum. The knowledge and capability of the successful candidate will contribute to managing Augean’s relationship with the environment and our neighbours, on society and on the economy through the development and implementation of appropriate reduction targets for environmental, social and corporate governance reporting commitments and guiding our path to net zero. The Role The role reports to the Head of Planning and Permitting. The Environmental Advisor will be responsible for:
  • Working in the Corporate Stewardship team to provide technical support on all environmental compliance matters across our sites.
  • Providing waste compliance advice for new business acquisitions and site development strategies.
  • Providing competent and accurate advice to the business on environmental, waste regulatory and waste planning issues, using core knowledge on regulatory requirements and the potential future impacts that changes to legislation or guidance may bring.
  • Working regularly with regulators such as the Environment Agency/ SEPA, Local Planning Authorities and the Health and Safety Executive, providing key environmental advice on any issues that arise on behalf of Augean and our clients.
  • Building strong working relationships with colleagues and external networks within the waste industry to overcome problems effectively.
