Our plastics reprocessing facility in Avonmouth, Bristol will reprocess over 80,000 tonnes of plastic every year - more than 1.6 billion bottles, tubs, and trays – creating recycled raw material to return to the economy. Plastic recycling at the facility will save 126,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year, the equivalent of taking over 67,000 cars off the road

 

We have a new opportunity for an Execution Engineer to join our team at out new Polymers facility in Avonmouth, Bristol for 42.5 hours pr week, from Monday to Friday.

 

The salary for this role is circa £54,000 per year, plus participation in a yearly bonus scheme, where you could earn up to 10% of your base salary.

 

 

About the role

 

The Execution Engineer will be part of our multi-disciplinary maintenance team and will play an integral role in the delivery of the maintenance strategy at our Avonmouth Polymer Reprocessing Facility. The primary purpose of this role is the effective execution of breakdown and corrective maintenance work, as well as supporting the root cause analysis process to implement preventive actions to improve overall plant availability.

 

Working collaboratively with EC&I engineer, Mechanical Engineer and the Maintenance Planner, the Execution Engineer will lead the site multi-functional maintenance team to execute planned and reactive maintenance activities to ensure machine condition, availability and standards are maintained.

 

The Execution Engineer will provide technical support/governance to ensure improvement projects are executed to the correct standards and in line with site plan, as well as owning the statutory inspections.

 

In addition, this role will be responsible for ensuring a positive safety culture is upheld at all levels and financial targets are met within their department

 

What are we looking for?

 

  • Understanding in a mechanical/electrical engineering role from areas such as FMCG/ manufacturing/ waste management.
  • Full working understanding and ability to lead root cause analysis (RCA) and provide effective engineering solutions
  • Ability to successfully manage and deliver on multiple tasks with competing priorities and strict time lines
  • An experienced Mechanical/Electrical Engineer with relevant background and level of expertise, with a focus on plant maintenance
  • Experience of developing technical solutions from concept selection, through design development, installation and commissioning.
  • HNC/HND qualified in a Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or in a closely related subject

Working as their Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out key planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance across the recycling facility on a wide variety of heavy plant and equipment.

 

What you will be doing

As the Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Preventative maintenance (PPMs) and reactive maintenance across heavy industrial plant
  • Mechanical fault-finding and route cause analysis techniques
  • Working across all processing plant
  • Maintenance on wash plant,sorting equipment, motors, conveyors and other manufacturing based equipment.
  • Minimising downtime, ensuring plant runs at optimum performance
  • Be able to deliver all work set to the operational expectations and budgetary requirements
  • Keep records using CCM systems
  • Working as part of a shift pattern

The Job

Working as the Analytical Chemist, you will be responsible for:
  • Performing various analytical tests on waste samples coming onto site.
  • Running and maintaining instrumentation within the Laboratory, including GC-MS/FID and ICP-OES.
  • Ensuring all work complies with relevant HSE, Quality, Regulatory and Accreditation standards (UKAS, ISO 17025).
  • Sample preparation, extraction and clean-up using various techniques.
  • Calculation of results from testing and data entry into the company system.
  • Performing daily checks including balances, pipettes and instruments.
  • Sampling of incoming waste streams for compliance.
  • Work with senior teams to ensure site and lab KPI’s are met.

The Candidate

To be considered for this position, candidates are expected to have an appropriate chemistry qualification to degree level as well as experience handling a diverse range of chemical compounds.

 

Candidates would ideally have some experience in Analytical Chemistry and Statistical Analysis as a good understanding of working in an operational laboratory.   

 

This role would suit a recent Chemistry graduate who is looking to utilise their knowledge in a hands-on role in the waste/ hazardous waste industry.

The Service Engineer SE has an overall responsibility for:

 

  • Hands on servicing installation and repair of various types of water treatment equipment.
  • Undertaking scheduled installation/service under contract and one-off planned service outside of contract

Requirements
  • Post holder must hold a full UK Driving licence and must be able to travel and stay overnight as required, including occasional weekend working as and when required.
  • Previous experience of working within the Water Treatment Industry, along with servicing or installations experience.
  • 1 year relevant Equipment Service work experience desired in an appropriate Electro-mechanical environment, ideally in the water treatment sector.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations often alone on customer sites
