Introduction

We are currently recruiting for Water Treatment Technician's to join the UK No.1 specialist of Water Treatment and Water Hygiene. Working as a Water Treatment Technician, this will see you travelling across Bristol and the surrounding areas.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

As a Water Treatment Technician, you will be responsible for:

• Carrying out inspections on tanks and cooling towers across various sites
• Reporting on the condition of the tanks and cooling towers
• Carrying out small maintenance works and repairs
• Basic sampling, temperature monitoring and recording
• Monitoring of the pre-post chlorination of the cooling towers
• Carrying out TMV servicing
• Ensuring that all documentation is completed and compliant.

 

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

• A strong background of working within the water treatment industry
• Experience of working with cooling towers
• Knowledge of taking water treatment samples and carrying out inspections
• Previous plumbing experience would be ideal
• A DBS check is required for this position
• A relevant qualification is desirable

Roles & Responsibilities As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Attending various customer sites across the UK and Ireland to carry out various installations, repair works, and after sales service support works to specialist plant and machinery.
• Undertaking inspections and assessments of machinery to ensure optimal performance and that all plant remains effective.
• Carrying out reports and documentation detailing completed works and advisories and ensuring that the customer has had necessary follow ups.
• Providing technical and engineering support to customers as well as health and safety guidance and compliance.
• Carrying out fault finding techniques with the ability to read circuit diagrams.

Skills & Qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:

• Electrical or Mechanical experience with relevant qualifications
• Experience of working within the waste industry, ideally recycling
• Experience of working with sorting and separating equipment
• Strong experience of working with heavy industrial machinery
• Forklift Truck driving licence is desirable
• Strong customer service and people skills

Mechanical Technician

Material Recycling Facility

Aldridge, Walsall

Up to £34,345

4 on 4 off, days and nights

 

Introduction

Astute are partnered with a leading recycling and waste management business in the UK, who are looking for a Mechanical Technician to join their Material Recycling Facility in Walsall.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, as a Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for:

• Hands on maintenance across the site
• Maintaining pumps, motors, gearboxes, stirrers, mixers, and all associated pipework
• Driving plant availability through carrying out PPMs, reactive maintenance, and engineering improvements across the site as well as installations.
• Develop and implement processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and minimum downtime across the site.
• Stay on top of site stock and spares
• Other duties as required

 

This is a shift-based role with a mix of days and nights on a 4 on 4 off rota – please only apply if this is suitable.

 

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

• A relevant qualification in an engineering discipline, HNC / HND / NVQ Level 3
• Experience with hands on maintenance within a similar environment (waste management, water treatment, anaerobic digestion etc.)
• IOSHH or NEEBOSH would be desirable
• Experience of working on heavy industrial machinery including pumps, conveyors, optical sorters etc.

We are currently recruiting for a Transport Manager to join one of the industry leaders in Hazardous Waste Management Services across the UK. Supporting them at their site in Paisley, you will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient and compliance transport operations are running at all times out of the site. 

What you will be doing

As the Transport Manager, reporting directly to the Operations Manager, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Running the day to day transport activities across a fleet of vehicles
• Contribute to the delivery of targets, cash flow and budgets
• Manage the legal requirements and monitoring of tachographs and drivers
• Report on results, production, and driver feedback
• Ensure all transport activities always operate within company policy and legal requirements
• Staff training and development
• Regular monitoring and delivery of customer service targets
• Ensure the depot operates within company assurance procedures
• Undertake any reasonable task of duties required

This role will be responsible for providing environmental leadership and technical expertise across a portfolio of major infrastructure and nuclear projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and driving best practice in environmental management.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert environmental advice to project and delivery teams across all phases of work (design, construction, and commissioning)

• Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, planning conditions, and site-specific requirements

• Develop, implement, and maintain Environmental Management Plans (EMPs), risk assessments, and method statements

• Identify environmental risks and opportunities, implementing mitigation and improvement strategies

• Support and lead environmental audits, inspections, and assurance activities

• Monitor environmental performance and produce reports for internal and external stakeholders

• Liaise with regulators, clients, and key stakeholders on environmental matters
