The Piping Calculations Engineer is business critical and will play a pivotal role in contributing to the completion of the HPC design phase role comes with a salary ranging from £40,000 up to £55,000 dependant on experience.       Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:  
  • PhD or Degree in Mechanics or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
  • Strong expertise in mechanical simulation, particularly finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Strong understanding of piping stress analysis, materials, and structural mechanics.
  • Hands-on experience with finite element tools.
  • Familiarity with UK design standards and regulatory processes.
  • Proficiency in ANSYS and special piping component calculations (fixed points, endplates).
  • Experience with RSTAB, BEAM STRESS, and support calculations and CALTUY/Pipestress software.  
  • Knowledge of RCC-M code (section C3650) and damage modes.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in piping calculation.

The Job

The Candidate

Candidates will have the following experience.

  • A HNC or degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering or Chemistry qualification or similar or qualified by experience.
  • A full UK driving license is required.
  • Knowledge and experience of chemical water treatment would be an advantage e.g. cooling tower management, boiler optimisation.
