As a HP Surveyor you will be performing activities and carrying out assessments on tasks, equipment or environments which have a radiological impact. While doing it to the highest standards.

Responsibilities include:
  • radiological surveys and analyses
  • routine Health Physics tasks including –
  • Response checks of instrumentation
  • Monitoring of personnel and areas
  • Designated area access / egress control
  • Air sampling
  • PPE / RPE inspection
  • Possible use of specialised RPE, i.e. PBASO (pressurised breathing air - suit operative)
  • Working party compliance with radiological controls
  • Clearance monitoring
  • decontamination of areas, items and personnel
  • Prepare and maintain all necessary records, and associated documentation
  • Assist project engineers as necessary with work/test instructions and studies
  • Report progress and results to the RPS / Supervisor / Site Manager

Essential Requirements:
  • NVQ Radiation Protection or City & Guilds - Radiation Safety Practices
  • Proven experience of health physics surveillance
  • Understands radiological issues, radioactive shielding and barrier theories and protocols for safe working
  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations inc: COSHH, PUWER, LOLER, RIDDOR

You will ideally have experience working in a similar environment, in a relevant sector such as Recycling, Waste Management, Water Treatment etc. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established business in a stable and everchanging industry.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, as an Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for:
  • Reactive repairs and maintenance on a range of equipment across the site.
  • Preventative maintenance on all electrical systems including pumps, motors, PLCs, control panels etc.
  • Maintaining and servicing controls and instrumentation across the site (flow meters, temperature gauges etc.)
  • Always working to minimise downtime across all equipment site-wide
  • Remaining health and safety focused at all times

 

The shift rota for this position is 4 on 4 off including days and nights. Please only apply if this is suitable.

 

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:
  • Level 3 minimum Electrical qualification (HNC/HND/NVQ 3)
  • 18th Edition would be desirable

  • Responsible for the planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance on mechanical assets such as pumps, gearboxes, valves, gas turbines etc
