An exciting opportunity for a Home Based Senior Business Development Manager now exists to contact land owners such as farmers/estates, land agents and local planning authorities and identify new development opportunities for new solar parks.

As Senior Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for:-

  • Project scouting including appointments and negotiation with landowners and interest groups
  • Liaising with Company Solicitors for property agreements
  • Contacting and managing municipalities to obtain and understand policies and regulations & support for our initiatives
  • Project Management, managing individual project progress on the ground, in close collaboration with the Munich based Project Managers

To be considered for the Senior Business Development Manager role, candidates will demonstrate:-

  • Supervise and verify compliance with quality standards during the construction phase of the wastewater treatment plant.
  • Ensure that civil engineering works comply with applicable international regulations, project specifications, and internal quality standards.
  • Implement quality control plans and internal auditing processes to ensure consistency and performance of on-site activities.

Roles & Responsibilities

As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing potential market opportunities and generating leads within the commercial and industrial sectors over telephone, LinkedIn, email campaigns and site visits
  • Understanding of the commercial landscape for developing strong business pipelines, proactively selling profitable new business to achieve and exceed quarterly / annual new business targets.
  • To manage proactively and reactively, the selling of profitable new business within the sales territory and identify new prospect lists for business opportunities

Astute’s EPC Power team is partnering with a leading EPC Contractor within the UK Power Industry to recruit a Lead Electrical Commissioning Engineer on an 8 month contract basis for its Open Cycle Gas Turbine plant in Stewartby, Bedfordshire.

The Lead Electrical Commissioning Engineer role comes with a day rate of £500.00 to £550.00 per day. 

 

 

Key skills and responsibilities: 
  • Leading and executing electrical commissioning activities for a gas power project in UK, until successful handover to the customer. The scope of activities will be: Experienced with NG TP106 Process Framework thereby ensuring commissioning is conducted with a level of governance and associated audit trail.
  • Hands-on commissioning of electrical components and systems such as, transformers, medium/low voltage switchgears, DC systems, rectifiers, inverters, motorized valves, instruments etc. Fully competent at using Primary & Secondary Injection test set equipment.
  • Carrying out testing on electrical systems and equipment, as well as system optimization and troubleshooting and filling-in the respective commissioning documentation and protocols
  • Cooperation with internal team members, guidance and coordination of external partners and sub-contractors, interacting with customers.
  • Managing and leading the team of LV/MV/HV electrical engineers, electrical supervisors, technicians, etc. Participate in the Plan of the Day meeting daily providing resourceful inputs on the work progress.
  • Ensure all the activities conducted on site follow the correct process in accordance with project requirements and in strict compliance with all EHS requirements.
  • Coordination of all necessary activities with all involved parties, such as commissioning team, erection team and sub-contractors
  • Participation in the walk-downs for Turnover from construction to commissioning, identifying open items that prevent system start-up.
  • Preparation and update of the commissioning procedures to be conducted on site.
  • Manage the documentation submission for project close-out.
  • Report to the Commissioning Manager and the Head of Commissioning
  • Provide theoretical and practical training to customer personnel.
  • Deputize Commissioning Manager in his/her absence.
  • At least 7 years working experience in power stations Electrical (MV/LV and I&C) Commissioning activities with demonstrable experience in a leading role in projects of similar relevance.

Astute's Power Team are currently recruiting 2 Electrical Testers to join a Electrical Main Contractor on a new build Waste to Energy facility based in Irvine, Scotland on a 5 months contractor under the CIS scheme.

The Electrician positions come with an hourly rate of £24.00 per hour. Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:
  • Perform electrical testing and commissioning of LV and MV cabling systems associated with Balance of Plant (BoP) infrastructure.

  • Conduct insulation resistance testing (IR), continuity checks, polarity tests, and phase rotation verification on power and control cables.

  • Interpret single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and cable schedules to verify correct installation.

  • Ensure all cable terminations, joints, and connections meet industry standards and project specifications.

  • Document test results clearly and accurately in line with QA/QC protocols.

  • Coordinate with installation teams, supervisors, and commissioning engineers to troubleshoot faults or non-conformities.

  • Verify correct cable routing, glanding, and tagging across BoP systems (e.g., transformers, switchgear, MCCs, and auxiliary equipment).

  • Follow lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) and site safety procedures at all times.

  • Use appropriate testing tools (megger, multimeter, phase testers, etc.) and ensure they are calibrated and in good condition.

  • Support pre-commissioning and energization activities under the direction of the electrical commissioning manager.

  • Participate in punch-list activities and resolution of deficiencies.
