  • Joining a team of Blasting Operatives and Engineers working across the UK’s power generation sector to provide key industrial cleaning and shockwave solutions within a number of Power Stations and Energy from Waste centres throughout the UK.
  • You will use key cleaning technologies to improve the efficiently of power stations and process facilities. This done through controlled detonative charges used in a power station boiler, to dislodge corrosive build-up on pipework.
  • You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transport and usages of explosives, working in a close team to deliver a timely and responsive cleaning service across the UK. This post will require a sizable amount of travel that can include weekends.

Responsibilities and duties of the High Voltage Testing & Commissioning Engineer role

Reporting to the Project Manager you will:

  • Carry out testing and commissioning of high-voltage systems (up to 132kV+), including protection relay testing, SCADA integration, and both primary and secondary injection.
  • Develop and deliver commissioning plans, method statements, risk assessments, and switching schedules.
  • Work closely with SAPs, project managers, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues on-site, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
