As a Temporary Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Corporate Controller while covering for an employee on maternity leave. Your contributions will ensure the integrity and transparency of the organization’s financial activities.

What You’ll Do:

As a Temporary Accountant, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing routine balance sheet account reconciliations and recording related journal entries.
  • Overseeing accounts payable, by-products, fixed assets, and payroll processes.
  • Preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and reports related to various company activities, including depletion and timber sale rates.
  • Reviewing and assisting with goods received not invoiced tracking for accounts payable and freight.
  • Maintaining fixed asset systems, including creating and tracking Capital Improvement Projects (CIP).
  • Analyzing purchase card expenditures to ensure accurate expense coding.
  • Conducting account variance analysis to research and resolve discrepancies.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to address accounting inquiries and provide support.
What You’ll Bring:

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • A minimum of one (1) year of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or wood products.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with large ERP and/or computer-based accounting systems.
  • Outstanding organizational and critical thinking skills.
  • Solid people skills and the ability to be a self-starter.
  • Strong initiative and follow-through capabilities.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage a high volume of activity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Location & Schedule: This position is on-site in Springfield, OR and offers a schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
