Join Douglas County Forest Products as a Boiler Operator/Turbine and play an important role in keeping plant operations running safely and efficiently. This position is responsible for monitoring and operating the facility’s boiler system and related equipment while maintaining safe, reliable, and continuous plant operations.
What You'll Do As a Boiler Operator, you will be responsible for:
• Operate and monitor boilers, burners, pumps, fans, conveyors, and fuel systems • Monitor boiler pressure, temperature, water levels, and fuel supply • Make adjustments to maintain safe and efficient operation • Perform routine inspections and identify equipment issues • Monitor water treatment systems and perform blowdowns • Monitor fuel systems, including wood waste, bark, and sawdust • Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and minor maintenance • Assist Maintenance with repairs and troubleshooting • Maintain accurate operating logs and records • Keep the boiler room and work areas clean and safe • Remove ash and boiler-related waste • Report hazards, equipment issues, and other concerns • Communicate operating conditions and shift updates • Assist with other plant operations as neededWhat You'll Bring The ideal candidate will have:
