The Facility Building Maintenance Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the building, grounds, and equipment. This involves a wide range of cleaning tasks, minor repairs, and assisting with various maintenance and support activities as directed by the Site Coordinator or Facilities Manager.

Key Responsibilities for the Facility Building Maintenance Attendant:
  • Cleaning & Sanitation:

  • Perform general cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and scrubbing floors, walls, and furniture.

  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, conference rooms, and common areas, ensuring supplies are always stocked.

  • Perform deep cleaning tasks like washing windows, ceilings, and woodwork.

  • Sanitize high-touch surfaces, including doorknobs and elevator buttons, particularly for Covid-19 safety.

  • Maintenance & Repairs:

  • Assist with small building projects and light repairs, including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry work, and touch-up painting.

  • Report building maintenance issues to the Site Coordinator or Facilities Manager.

  • Event & Facility Support:

  • Help set up and clean up after facility events, including moving furniture and equipment.

  • Perform regular checks of the facility and report issues to the Site Coordinator/FM.

  • Supply Management:

  • Maintain custodial supply inventory, reorder materials, and distribute supplies as needed.

  • Refill coffee supplies and clean coffee machines.

  • Safety & Security:

  • Follow safety procedures and ensure the building is clean, organized, and safe.

  • Report any hazards or building concerns to the Site Coordinator/FM.

    Required Skills and Abilities for the Facility Building Maintenance Attendant:
    • Physical Strength: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, move furniture, and perform manual labor.

    • Detail-Oriented: Attention to detail for cleanliness and maintenance tasks.

    • Communication & Customer Service: Strong interpersonal skills to assist staff, visitors, and others in a friendly, helpful manner.

    • Technical Ability: Ability to use cleaning equipment, make minor repairs, and climb ladders.

    • Flexibility: Ability to handle different tasks and work well independently or as part of a team.

    This role requires a versatile, proactive individual who can maintain a clean and safe environment while providing support for building operations and events.

Ensure all fed sheets are unstacked, and discard wane sheets as necessary. Ensure proper amounts of veneer sheets are fed with each dryer cycle, according to supervisor expectations and production needs. Move green veneer onto a scissors platform and maintain the proper height at that platform At times, the machine will jam or plug up which will at times require the worker to remove or assist in removing the blockage.  Assistance will be available upon request, should the worker be unable to perform this activity alone. Proper Lock-out-tag-out procedures Use and understand dryers’ manual button operating system for power control. Breaking of other dryer employees and rotation to different positions for cross-training purposes or to facilitate production as designated by the supervisor. Assist co-workers or Maintenance personnel in basic maintenance procedures or fixing dryer plug-ups. Perform weekly maintenance, including greasing and oiling of machine parts as necessary for proper dryer function. Perform routine weekly dryer cleanings: including the removal of cans/tubes and other machine parts from dryer basement, using water hoses to remove debris from inside the dryer,  shoveling and sorting debris into proper waste boxes (by size and makeup), and replacing cleaned machine parts.
