Overview:

Selectemp is seeking a Safety Coordinator. The Safety and Environmental Coordinator is responsible for overseeing workplace health, safety, and environmental compliance across all company sites. This role ensures adherence to OSHA, DEQ, DOT, and other regulatory requirements while embedding safety best practices into all departments. The position involves training, inspections, investigations, and consultation with leadership on compliance matters. Regular travel to manufacturing plants is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.

  • Conduct site audits, inspections, and incident investigations; recommend corrective actions.

  • Manage OSHA logs, injury reporting, and safety documentation.

  • Develop and deliver safety training programs (e.g., HAZCOM, confined space, bloodborne pathogens).

  • Lead safety committee activities, emergency drills, and ergonomic evaluations.

  • Track permits, manage SDS records, and coordinate waste disposal compliance.

  • Provide guidance on workers’ compensation, return-to-work programs, and accident prevention.

  • Advise leadership on regulatory updates, program improvements, and safety performance.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Safety, Environmental, or related field; or safety certification with 3+ years of relevant experience.

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, DEQ, and environmental/safety regulations.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).

  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and work independently.

  • Valid driver’s license; ability to travel between sites.
