The Plywood Mill Worker will manufacture, process and move sheets of veneer. This is a great opportunity to be a part of a great program and further your career in this industry, located in Eugene, OR.  As a Plywood Mill Worker, you will be responsible for: Picking up individual sheets of veneer and moving them so that they can be picked up by the rollers of the veneer dryer equipment. Ensure all fed sheets are unstacked, and discard wane sheets as necessary. Ensure proper amounts of veneer sheets are fed with each dryer cycle, according to supervisor expectations and production needs. Move green veneer onto a scissors platform and maintain the proper height at that platform At times, the machine will jam or plug up which will at times require the worker to remove or assist in removing the blockage.  Assistance will be available upon request, should the worker be unable to perform this activity alone. Proper Lock-out-tag-out procedures Use and understand dryers’ manual button operating system for power control. Breaking of other dryer employees and rotation to different positions for cross-training purposes or to facilitate production as designated by the supervisor. Assist co-workers or Maintenance personnel in basic maintenance procedures or fixing dryer plug-ups. Perform weekly maintenance, including greasing and oiling of machine parts as necessary for proper dryer function. Perform routine weekly dryer cleanings: including the removal of cans/tubes and other machine parts from dryer basement, using water hoses to remove debris from inside the dryer,  shoveling and sorting debris into proper waste boxes (by size and makeup), and replacing cleaned machine parts. As a Industrial Millwright Mechanic, you will be responsible for:

  • Ability to Perform major or minor maintenance on mobile equipment when necessary at the East and West Plant. 
  • Ability to Operate multiple pieces of equipment such as welders, cutting torches, hand tools, overhead cranes, forklifts, loaders and other miscellaneous equipement. 
  • Inspect, evaluate, and determine what parts are needed to repair mobile equipment within the area of the East and West Plants. 
  • Manage and communicate with operators preventative maintenance schedule on mobile equipment
  • Inform operators on status of repairs
  • Keep track of all service records and work with the preventative maintenance person for the creation and closing out of work orders, and any parts needed to complete the job. 
  • Keep track of equipment hours to keep a routine maintenance schedule
  • Complete work orders in a timely manner
  • Be sure to have a work order created for any maintenance jobs that are performed
  • Fill out time cards as per hours worked on mobile equipment. If it is for a specific project then put that project name in instead of the area
  • Assist millwrights and clean up shop at slow times
  • The work requirements are not limited to these primary duties.

  • Stacking bags on pallets, putting covers on pallets and placing finished goods in the correct warehouse location.
  • Position requires accurate completion of the Bagger production report, filling pellet sample cups every ton for quality control information, and tagging pallet with Quality Control tag with initials, date, ton number, and the shift the pallet was completed.

The ideal candidate for this role will have: 
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior forklift and production line experience preferred.
  • Will require good eye, hand, and foot coordination.
  • Will need to pass the company forklift training.
  • Required to read and interpret scales.
