We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Millwright to join a premier wood-products manufacturer in Albany as a direct-hire employee.

Starting at $40.21/hour with the potential for an additional $3.00/hour shift differential, this is an opportunity for a skilled industrial mechanic who knows how to troubleshoot, repair, align, fabricate, and keep heavy production equipment running.

This isn't an entry-level maintenance job. You'll be working with hydraulics, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, precision alignment, welding, fabrication, and large-scale industrial equipment in a fast-paced mill environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Respond to mill breakdowns and troubleshoot mechanical issues to get equipment back online.
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems, pumps, bearings, gearboxes, and other industrial equipment.
  • Perform precision mechanical maintenance and preventive maintenance.
  • Read and interpret mechanical and hydraulic drawings, schematics, and work orders.
  • Perform welding, fabrication, equipment installation, and alignment.
  • Use laser alignment, torque, belt-tensioning, and other precision maintenance tools and techniques.
  • Partner with operators and maintenance teammates to identify equipment issues and improve reliability.
  • Investigate equipment failures and help determine root causes — not just temporary fixes.
  • Document maintenance and repair work using SAP.
  • Follow rigorous safety and lockout/tagout procedures while working around heavy industrial equipment.
What You’ll Have
  • Millwright Card OR 3+ years of verifiable industrial/commercial mechanic experience required.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulics, pumps, bearings, and gearboxes.
  • Welding and metal fabrication experience.
  • Experience installing, aligning, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery.
  • Ability to read mechanical and hydraulic schematics and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with precision measurement and alignment tools.
  • Experience with predictive or reliability-centered maintenance practices is a plus.
  • Strong commitment to safety and proper lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Ability to work in an active industrial environment that includes stairs, ladders, machinery, noise, dust, changing temperatures, and extended periods on your feet.

  • Process invoices, purchase orders, payments, cash applications, and other AR/AP transactions
  • Perform collections follow-up on past-due accounts via phone, email, or mail
  • Research and resolve billing discrepancies, pricing errors, missing payments, and other account issues
  • Enter journal entries and assist with basic general ledger maintenance
  • Complete routine reconciliations for bank statements, credit cards, and other assigned accounts
  • Assist with month-end close activities as needed
  • Train and coach existing team members on AR/AP procedures, systems, workflows, and best practices
  • Provide hands-on instruction and demonstrate proper processes for completing daily AR/AP responsibilities
  • Help identify process gaps or areas where additional training may be beneficial
  • Create or improve process documentation, procedures, and training materials to support a smooth transition
  • Work alongside department team members to gradually transition AR/AP responsibilities back to the internal team
  • Answer questions and provide guidance to team members throughout the assignment
  • Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and documentation
  • Support the accounting department with reporting, data entry, and other administrative duties as needed
