Position Overview:

As a Voucher Program Clerical Specialist, you will support the administration of the housing voucher program. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to stay productive and focused in an office setting. In this position, you will work closely with both tenants and management, enforcing policies and procedures that ensure the success of the program while maintaining a compassionate, professional approach. 

As a Clerical Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Assist with the administration of the voucher program, ensuring all paperwork, applications, and communications are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and update records related to housing vouchers and tenant eligibility.
  • Ensure compliance with program policies and local housing regulations.
  • Work closely with tenants, answering questions and providing support while enforcing program guidelines.
  • Enforce consequences when necessary, such as informing tenants of the potential loss of their housing voucher or other penalties due to their actions or non-compliance.
  • Ensure sensitive situations are handled professionally while maintaining the ability to separate personal feelings from the job.
  • Organize and maintain records, ensuring all information is accessible and up-to-date.
  • Stay productive and on task while working in your office, adhering to work schedules and deadlines.
  • Participate in training, and once completed, transition to a flexible schedule.
