  • Facilitates continuity of care using the nursing process, inter professional collaboration, and coordination of and access to appropriate health care services and community resources across the care continuum
  • Collaborates with inpatient and other clinic staff to develop informational/educational materials appropriate for the patient population.
  • Assesses learning needs of patient populations and develops curriculum/content accordingly.
  • Other duties, as assigned including On Call responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate Midwifery Degree (MSN or DNP from an ACME-accredited program)
  • CA RN License
  • National Certification as a CNM (through the AMCB)
  • State Nurse-Midwife Certification (California)
  • DEA certification
  • BLS (AHA) certification

A Day in the Life

  • Provide comprehensive women’s health services, including prenatal and family planning care
  • Conduct patient histories, assessments, and physical exams
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests; prescribe medications
  • Educate patients on preventive health practices and healthy living
  • Collaborate with OB-GYNs and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Maintain accurate EHR documentation and participate in quality improvement efforts
