As such, they are looking for a strong and experienced Deputy Production Supervisor to join their Plastic Recycling Facility based in Skelmersdale.

 

Role Responsibilities

As the Deputy Production Supervisor your responsibilities will be but not limited too;

 

  • Supervising direct reports, working alongside the Production Supervisor.
  • Ensuring daily operations of the site is carried out efficiently and in line with company policies
  • Support the team, working safely as part of a team of production operatives to ensure maximum productivity.
  • Operating fixed and mobile plant when needed.
  • Ensure the production and relevant departments within the business to deliver KPI’s ensuring production targets are achieved.
  • Produce weekly and month end information and key statistical data to the Production Manager.

The Ideal Candidates

 

To be considered for this position, candidates are expected to have previous experience working in a production supervisory/ team leader role within a heavy process production environment.

 

You will ideally come from industries such as Waste Management, Manufacturing, FMCG and Recycling and have strong leadership qualities to drive and develop a diverse team of production technicians.

 

The ideal candidate will also have a thorough understanding of Health & Safety in the workplace with the relevant certifications and qualifications (IOSH), good working knowledge of 24/7 Continuous Production Operations and Polymers Recycling Operations.

Introduction

We are currently seeking a qualified Site Chemist to work with an industry leader in Hazardous Waste Management Services, focussing on the disposal and collection of both hazardous and non-hazardous waste. Working as their Transfer Station Site Chemist, you will be responsible for supporting the daily operations across the waste facility ensuring efficient and effective waste acceptance, sampling and testing for a compliant and safe process at all times.

 

The Role

Working as their Transfer Station Site Chemist, you will be responsible for:
  • Assist with the hands-on operation of the hazardous waste transfer station, ensuring materials coming onto and off site are consistently safe and compliant to site permits and environmental regulations.
  • Assist with compiling lists of wastes to be transferred off site to third party disposal points. Liaising with other staff to ensure correct routing of wastes
  • Assist with non- conformance procedures and sample processing within the site for incoming waste streams.
  • Utilise appropriate systems to manage non- compliances.
  • Assist with the daily/weekly plan for the operational areas and laboratory, adapt to the unplanned and unexpected to deliver targets, KPI’s and other requirements.
  • Ensure house-keeping requirements and continuous improvement programmes are supported both directly and through the plant team.
  • Partake in improvement of process, contributing to micro project development.
  • Undertake area administration activity including Chemist Check sheets, process sheets, stock sheets, production records, etc.
  • Other tasks as needed.

This is a very hands-on operational role, working within an industrial transfer station. This role requires working outdoors and will suit someone with a flexible attitude to work.

 

The Candidate

To be considered for this position, candidates must have an appropriate chemistry qualification to degree level as well as experience handling a diverse range of chemical compounds including understanding of inter-reactions.

 

Candidates should have experience working in a site-based chemist role or working within an industrial laboratory environment with a good understanding of the Waste Management/ Hazardous Waste industry.

 

This role will require you to work in a hands-on operational capacity outdoors in all weather conditions.
