The Candidate To be considered for this position, candidates are expected to have a background working within a technical assessment/ support role with some understanding of working within the waste management sector, specifically hazardous waste management.
Candidates should hold a degree level qualification (or equivalent) in Chemistry with a strong ability to understand and interpret analytical data and legislation
Demonstrable experience communicating and coordinating with people at all levels of an organisation is also desired as this role will require working with customers, clients and internal personnel.

Job Title: Health Physics Monitor (HPM)
Location: Urenco Capenhurst, Cheshire Department: Health Physics / Radiation Protection Reports to: Health Physics Team LeaderOverview:
We are seeking a dedicated Health Physics Monitor to support radiation protection activities across the site. The successful candidate will be responsible for working to support the appointed RPA on-site for monitoring radiation levels, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and supporting operational teams to maintain a safe working environment.Key Responsibilities:
Carry out routine and non-routine radiological monitoring and contamination surveys.
Assist in the implementation of radiological protection measures and controls.
Operate and maintain radiation monitoring equipment.
Support investigations into radiological incidents or alarms.
Record and report monitoring data in accordance with regulatory and site-specific requirements.
Provide front-line support to operational staff regarding radiological safety and best practice.
Participate in emergency response drills and actual events as required.
Requirements:
Relevant qualifications or experience in radiation protection or health physics monitoring (e.g., RPA2000-accredited training or equivalent).
Strong understanding of radiological safety principles and regulations.
Good communication skills and a proactive approach to safety.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a regulated environment.

Hochtief is looking to recruit an Environmental Advisor to support the delivery of the Infrastructure Delivery Partner (IDP) programme at Sellafield. This role will focus on supporting environmental compliance and performance across a range of infrastructure and construction activities within a highly regulated nuclear environment.The successful candidate will work closely with project teams to ensure environmental risks are effectively managed and that all works are delivered in line with legal requirements and environmental best practice.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day environmental support to project and site teams
Assist in ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, permits, and site requirements
Support the development and implementation of Environmental Management Plans (EMPs), method statements, and risk assessments
Identify environmental risks on site and assist in implementing mitigation measures
Carry out site inspections, monitoring, and environmental audits
Support environmental incident investigations and reporting
Maintain accurate environmental records and contribute to performance reporting
Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders on environmental matters
Promote environmental awareness and good practice across site activities
Support sustainability initiatives, including waste management and resource efficiency
Key Requirements
Degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related discipline
Experience in an environmental role within construction, infrastructure, or a regulated industry
Working knowledge of UK environmental legislation
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Good communication skills with the ability to engage with site teams
Proactive approach to environmental management
Desirable
Experience working in a highly regulated environment (nuclear experience advantageous)
Awareness of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems
Membership of (or working towards) a relevant professional body (e.g., IEMA)
