They are looking for a Junior Field Service Technician to join their well established company, offering installations and on-going maintenance works to their customers up and down the UK.

 

Roles & Responsibilities As a Junior Field Service Technician you will be responsible for:

• Attending various customer sites across the UK and Ireland to carry out various installations, repair works, and after sales service support works to specialist plant and machinery.
• Undertaking inspections and assessments of machinery to ensure optimal performance and that all plant remains effective.
• Carrying out reports and documentation detailing completed works and advisories and ensuring that the customer has had necessary follow ups.
• Providing technical and engineering support to customers as well as health and safety guidance and compliance.
• Attending company meetings and training in the Netherlands when required

 

Skills & Qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:

• Electrical experience with relevant qualifications is essential
• Experience of working within the waste industry, ideally recycling
• Experience of working with compactors and balers
• Strong experience of working with heavy industrial machinery
• Hydraulic and pneumatic experience is essential
• Strong customer service and people skills
• Happy to stay away during the working week occasionally

Field Service Engineer

Introduction

We are currently recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to join a pioneering technology provider of on-line water quality measuring analytical systems. Working as a Field Service Engineer, this will see you travelling across the UK to various customers sites within the Life Sciences, Power, Municipal Water and Industrial Manufacturing industries.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Attending various sites around the UK, carrying out commissioning, calibration, repair, and general maintenance works to various
• Providing clear and concise technical support and guidance to customers and colleagues
• Writing Risk Assessments and Method Statements
• Following certain site procedures and working practices, including accepting, suspending, and clearing work permits.
• Offering a first-class service to all customers, ensuring that all works completed are in line with industry guidelines and customer specifications
• Carrying out relevant documentation and administrative tasks

Skills & Qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:

• ONC and HNC in Electrical Engineering/Instrumentation of Control or relevant experience  
• Experience of working within Portable Water, Life Sciences, Power or Industrial sites.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Service Technician within an instrumentation or calibration role
• Strong problem solving and diagnostic skills
• Must be confident carrying out calibrations and repairs with minimal supervision
• A full, clean driving licence and ability to travel across the UK

About the role

 

As a Transfer Station Operative, you’ll ensure the site operates efficiently and effectively, with health and safety being at the fore front of everything you do.

 

You’ll coordinate the day to day transport movements on site, ensuring vehicles are weighed in and all details for material entering and leaving site, are entered into the system.

 

As part of this role, you’ll also carry out daily inspections of plant and equipment, ensuring any issues are reported to the site supervisor or Operations Manager as a priority.

 

What are we looking for?

 

• Good knowledge of transfer station operations.  
• The ability to recognise different types of waste streams. 
• Experience of controlling traffic movements. 
• Full driving licence. 

• Good self-discipline and time keeping. 

 

 

 

Site Chemist

Waste Management Didcot Up to £25,400 + Package

 

Introduction

We are currently recruiting for a Site Chemist to join one of the industry leaders in hazardous and clinical waste management solutions across the UK. Working as a Graduate/ Site Chemist, you will be responsible for taking and analysing hazardous waste samples on-site to ensure safe and compliant waste is processed at all times. This will be supporting with the day-to-day operations of the transfer station.

 

The Job

Reporting to the Production Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Assist with the hands-on operation of the hazardous waste site, ensuring materials coming onto and off site are consistently safe and compliant to site permits and environmental regulations.
• Analyse, test and classify a wide variety of hazardous waste materials on-site.
• Assist with compiling lists of wastes to be transferred off site to third party disposal points.
• Assist with non- conformance procedures and sample processing for incoming waste streams.
• Unloading and loading lorries across the site, operating forklift tricks and supporting with deliveries.
• Support the site with any extra duties such as tidying and washing the yard.

 

The Candidate

To be considered for this position, candidates are expected to have an appropriate chemistry qualification to degree level as well as experience handling a diverse range of chemical compounds including understanding of inter-reactions.

This role would suit a recent graduate looking to further their career within the chemical sector and an interest in moving into the waste management industry.

This is NOT a lab-based role, but instead will utilise your chemistry knowledge in a hands-on operational way. You will be working in difficult conditions and across a busy yard environment. Please only apply if this is suitable.

Electrical Maintenance Technician London £44,000 + OT + benefits Introduction… Astute are partnered with a leader in the Waste Management industry who are seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to work out of their Waste Transfer Station in London (SW). This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established business within an industry that is only going to continue growing as we move towards a more sustainable world. Roles & Responsibilities As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for:

• Hands on maintenance across the site
• Working on a range of cranes and mobile plant
• Driving plant availability through carrying out PPMs, reactive maintenance, and engineering improvements across the site
• Carrying out mechanical and electrical tests in line with legislation
• Other duties as required

  Skills & Qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:

• Electrical maintenance experience in either the Waste industry, or a similar Heavy Industrial setting
• 17th or 18th Edition
• Experience with PPMs and reactive repairs
• Knowledge of a range of plant (preferably mobile)
• A strong team player and a health and safety conscious focus
