Astute are proudly partnered with a global client who are looking for an Asset Manager to join the business. The client offers operations and maintenance (O&M) services to their clients across the UK and are looking for an Asset Manager to take overall ownership for a portfolio of rooftop solar assets, ensuring successful delivery of the contracted scope of services.

Roles & Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Senior Operations Manager, as an Asset Manager, you will be responsible for:
  • Primary contact for site owners, managing all customer queries, ensuring they are dealt with promptly and to the highest standards
  • Management of all contracts and agreements associated with the sites, ensuring that all requirements and obligations are met and managing all breaches on behalf of the owners.
  • Managing internal and external resources to plan works with production maximisation as the goal, helping to define and manage the annual OPEX budgets
  • Primary contact for site owners, managing all customer queries, ensuring they are dealt with promptly and to the highest standards

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:
  • Experience in managing the Technical Operations of rooftop solar assets or similar technologies
  • Understanding of Solar Technology, solar farms operations, SCADA systems and UK HSE Legislation
  • Proven track record with managing contracts, read, understand and enforce contracts effectively

Nuclear Safety Case Specialist Nuclear Dorset Up to £60,000 DOE + Bonus     Introduction We are currently recruiting for a Nuclear Safety Case Specialist to join one of the industry leaders in hazardous waste management across the UK at their nuclear licenced site in Dorset. Working as their Nuclear Safety Case Specialist, you will be working as part of their core team to support in the development and management of their new 10 year nuclear safety case, operating until 2033.                     Roles & Responsibilities Working as the Nuclear Safety Case Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting with the development of their safety case for their licenced site in Dorset. This will include:  
  • Developing their Management of Change (MoC) Assessments, BAT Assessments, Radiological Dose Assessments, Site Wide Environmental Safety Case (SWESC) and Waste Management Plan (WMP).
  • Delivering SSHEQ objectives in line with both company and site requirements, promoting the best culture across the site and all stakeholders.
  • Maintaining their new operational safety case, ensuring full compliance and supporting with all technical documentation relating to this.
  • Lead all modifications to the safety case in line with new projects and programmes.
  •  Act as Lead Author and Design Authority for our EA Site Wide Environmental Safety Case (SWESC) and Waste Management Plan (WMP), ensuring compliance with the EA and the environmental permits.
  • Provide technical support to assure compliance with the licensing requirements of the Nuclear Site Licence, liaising effectively with nuclear regulators.
  • All other duties as required.
    Skills & Qualifications Candidates must have a background working within the Nuclear industry, supporting site safety case management and compliance requirements at a senior level. Candidates should have strong technical report writing skills, be able to deliver key SSHEQ objectives, nuclear regulatory submissions and have a good understanding of safety case development. Due to the nature of the role, practical experience on a nuclear site is beneficial and all candidates must be able to hold and maintain national security clearance.     Salary & Package

HSSE Advisor

Astute’s Power team are working with global power generation produce who own & operate a number of Combined Cycle Gas Turbine assets in the United Kingdom. The plant, located in South Lincolnshire, is capable of producing around 860MW of Power as well as having added an additional 300MW capacity in the form of a Siemens F-Class Open Cycle plant. We are actively looking for Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) advisor to join the team on site. You’ll play an integral part to ensure the plant is aligned and complies with the clients HSSE policy. This role includes management of the HSSE systems, ensuring site procedures are adhered to, managing permits and promoting a strong Security Culture on an asset striving towards continuous improvement.   The HSSE Advisor position comes with highly competitive salary, , excellent benefits package plus a bonus and ongoing development.   • Provide HSSE guidance and awareness to the Operations & Maintenance team and wider site team, supporting the development of the HSSE strategy including KPI’s and regular communication.
  • Act as key point of contact for all internal and external stakeholders including local authorities, Environment Agency and Health & Safety Executive for all HSSE matters.
  • Work with the Regional Manager to manage & monitor KPI’s.
  • Run site wide training programmes and individual coaching as defined by policies.
  • Take part in incident investigations to identify root cause and compile reports on findings.
  • Report and log all incidents, tracking actions to completion & carry out analysis to prevent repeat incidents.
  • Audit & test site emergency procedures.
  • Any other duties defined in job specification.
    Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or Diploma in Health & Safety Management is desirable, similar qualifications combined with experience are also welcome.
  • It would be advantageous to have Lead Auditor accreditation.
  • Member of a relevant industry body such as TechIOSH or Chartered or similar.
    Personal skills The HSSE Advisor would suit someone with:
  • At least five years HSSE or similar experience in a process plant such as a Power Station (Waste, Biomass, Gas, Coal etc), Refinery, Steel Works, COMAH site etc
  • Knowledge of Environmental Permits and general H&S in hazardous operations.
  • Working experience with Root Cause Analysis Tools
  • Clear communicator with track record of delivering HSSE training & coaching
  • Familiar with industry relevant HSSE standards, regulations and associated management systems.
