The Administrator comes with a day rate from £150.00 to £160.00 per day. Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:  
  • Manage, upload, review, and maintain project documentation using the ProjectWise platform, ensuring documents are accurately stored and easily retrievable

  • Support the administration and ongoing maintenance of Health & Safety (H&S) files, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and industry standards

  • Control document versioning, naming conventions, and approval workflows to maintain document integrity

  • Liaise with project teams, engineers, and contractors to collect, distribute, and track required documentation

  • Ensure H&S documentation (RAMS, permits, certificates, training records, etc.) is complete, up to date, and correctly filed

  • Monitor document registers and provide regular status updates and reports to the project team

Lead QA/QC Engineer

Astute’s Power team are looking to recruit a Lead QA /QC Engineer on a 3-month contract basis on an outage in West Yorkshire starting in February 2026.   The Lead QA/QC Engineer role comes with an hourly rate of £40-45. Key skills required for the Lead QA/QC Engineer role  
  • Pre-Outage activities will be to Perform vendor and workshop surveillance inspections for pressure part fabrication prior to outage mobilisations.
  • Review fabrication documentation including ITPs, QCPs, WPS/PQRs, welder qualifications, and material certification packs.
  • Verify material traceability (heat numbers, MTRs, PMI requirements) for pressure boundary components.
  • Inspect fit-up, welding, dimensional compliance, and fabrication workmanship for boiler and piping components.
  • Witness and review NDE activities (UT, RT, MT, PT) and ensure results meet acceptance criteria.
  • Monitor fabrication hold/witness points in line with inspection and test plans (ITPs).
  • Support FATs, punch list closeout, and release notes prior to shipment.
  • On the outage you will be required to lead and coordinate the site QA/QC Engineers across multiple fronts.
  • Inspect installation and repair works on boiler pressure parts including membrane walls, superheaters, economisers, headers, and pipework systems.
  • Witness pressure testing activities, including hydrostatic tests and associated reinstatement checks.
  • Review and approve inspection documentation for handover, including NDE reports, weld logs, and pressure test packs.
  • Raise NCRs, manage quality issues, and ensure corrective actions are implemented and closed out effectively.
  • Support final documentation turnover and completion dossiers for outage deliverables.
  • Must be an experienced QA/QC engineer on pre and post outages or shutdowns on large industrial plants, preferably Waste to Energy and/or Power plants.
  • Must have experience on vendor/manufacturing inspections and site outage inspection activities.

Roles & Responsibilities

As a Water Treatment Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out inspections on tanks and cooling towers across various sites
  • Reporting on the condition of the tanks and cooling towers
  • Carrying out small maintenance works and repairs
  • Basic sampling, temperature monitoring and recording
  • Monitoring of the pre-post chlorination of the cooling towers
  • Carrying out TMV servicing
  • Ensuring that all documentation is completed and compliant.

 

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • A strong background of working within the water treatment industry
  • Experience of working with cooling towers
  • Knowledge of taking water treatment samples and carrying out inspections
  • Previous plumbing experience would be ideal
