The Operations Manager role comes with a salary of £56,080 to £70,100, a pension, and benefits.

Responsibilities and duties of the Operations Manager role Reporting to the General Manager you will:
Lead health, safety, and environmental compliance, including risk assessments and incident reporting
Manage and maintain the Safe System of Work in line with site rules
Oversee operational performance, reliability, and plant availability
Support and develop the Operations Team through supervision and training
Ensure compliance with site permits and regulatory standards
Collaborate with other departments to meet plant targets
Manage operations during outages and unplanned events
Deliver against departmental budgets and strategic plans
Act as deputy for the General Manager when required
Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:
Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering degree
NEBOSH or IOSH qualification
At least five years’ experience in a supervisory operations or engineering role
Understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation
Experience in steam-powered electricity generation or similar
Personal skills The Operations Manager role would suit someone who is:
Able to lead teams and build strong working relationships
Experienced in delivering performance improvements
Comfortable using data to support decisions
Confident managing contractors and external partners

Astute's Power Team are currently recruiting 5x Electrical Tester to join a Electrical Main Contractor on a new build Waste to Energy facility based in Chester, Cheshire for 4 months (possible extension)
The Electrical Tester position come with an hourly rate from £19 to £22 per hour. Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:Perform electrical inspection and testing (Initial Verification & Periodic) in accordance with BS 7671
Complete test sheets and electrical installation condition reports (EICs, EICRs, MEWPs, etc.)
Conduct dead and live testing (IR, continuity, Zs, ZsR1+R2, RCD, etc.)
Identify faults, non-conformances, and complete remedial actions as needed
Support site-wide QA and handover documentation (Red Line drawings, snag lists)
Work closely with Supervisors, Commissioning Engineers, and QA team
Maintain adherence to all site safety and permit systems
Ensure compliance with IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition)
