Introduction

Our Client is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join their Recycling Facility on a full time permanent bases, based in Halesfield. This role will be leading and supporting their Engineering and Maintenance function across the team, strengthening the current strategy on-site.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Leading and developing all maintenance and engineering strategies across a fast-paced recycling facility.
• Working closely with the head of Engineering to develop and lead a strong planned maintenance structure, optimising and utilising current assets from performance data.
• Working to build a strong basis for maintenance procedures across the site to set the standard for future maintenance strategies.
• Assist alongside the Operations Manager, Unit Manager and Area Manager to influence and assist in key decision-making processes for engineering functions across the site. Working to provide financial and performance reporting where necessary.
• Other duties as required.
• Proactively promote a positive Health & Safety culture, leading towards a target of zero harm across personnel and contractors
• Continuous review of plant availability, and department performance, Identifying gaps, root causes and subsequent improvement activity.
• Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for the engineering department.

We are looking for someone with the following:

• Strong track record developing maintenance strategies and engineering functions in process, production or manufacturing environments.
• A good understanding of lean concept and optimisation strategies within a production focussed role.
• NVQ 3/ HNC/ HND or equivalent in an engineering subject or a relevant field.

Key responsibilities / accountabilities • To be responsible for a team of one or two engineers and organise their weekly priorities. • To be responsible for the availability and PM achieved to the designated portfolio. • Supervise HV works from different subcontractors. • Acting as Controller engineer (HV) • To help the GH O&M team to achieve high HSQE standards across our portfolio, working closely with HSE Manager. • Deliver all the Preventative Maintenance and Reactive Maintenance on the allocated portfolio including HV maintenance. • Complete Site Inspections across the portfolio as required. • Provide reports after each inspection on site (Monthly or reactive) • Use SCADA to monitor the health of the BESS assets under management. • To help other teams when required • Direct supervision of various works, including overseeing contractors as required. • Performance report submitted and presented to the Asset Management team every month. • Understand failures and propose solutions to existing problems affecting availability. • Site visits, HSE inductions, and interactions with Technical Advisers. • Weekend rota | Emergency attendance (paid on top of the salary) • Weekend monitoring (One every seven weekends) • Supervise PAC / IAC & FAC processes. EC&I Supervisor Polymers Recycling  Avonmouth  Up to £46,000 + Package 

Introduction Our Client is one of the UK's leading provider of Environmental solutions, offering a full range of Waste and Energy Recovery services through a vast and growing network of Plants and Facilities across the country. As such they are looking for an Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation Supervisor to join their brand new Polymers Recycling Facility based in Avonmouth.   

Role Responsibilities

As the EC&I Supervisor you will be responsible for but not limited to:

• Managing the day to day maintenance activities across the new polymers recycling facility.
• Supervising a shift team of multi-skilled technicians and contractors to maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of the team and ensure work is carried out to the standard required.
• Driving and implementing all PPM schedules as well as carrying out maintenance, both preventative and breakdown, on all equipment on the site to reduce operational down time.
• Managing the installations and refurbishments of equipment on-site and supporting initial commissioning services. 
• Take part in Root Cause Analysis activities (RCA) to identify the cause of failures and actions to prevent future failures increasing plant up time
• Communicate shift performance and activities through the shift report and handover process to effectively communicate issues to the management, engineering and production teams
• Maintain the workplace, tools and engineering facilities to prevent hazard and risks in the workplace and to promote effective engineering practices

The Ideal Candidates

To be considered for this position you will need to have a recognised Level 3 NVQ/HNC/HND within Electrical Engineering or equivalent with a strong understanding of a variety of controls and instrumentation equipment. 

You will have previous demonstrable experience supervising a team of multi-skilled engineers in an industrial operational facility/industry (ideally Waste Management, Power Generations, Aggregates, Manufacturing, FMCG etc). You will have knowledge of CMMS systems and a good understanding of a proactive maintenance strategy and condition monitoring as well as strong health and safety knowledge.

We are currently recruiting for an Electrician to join one of the leading providers of Water engineering services and solutions across the South. Working as their Electrician, you will join their small but established team based at their head office in Waterlooville, travelling out to client sites carrying out electrical installations, repair and testing work on various water contracts. This will see you working in a hands-on site-based role covering both clean and dirty water projects.

 

The Job

Working as the Electrician, you will be responsible for…

• Preforming electrical installations, refurbishments, repairs, testing and pre-planned maintenance across clean and dirty water projects.
• Work on client sites across the South, working away and staying where needed.
• Assisting clients on-site with technical faults or refurbishment projects.
• Inspect, survey, identify faults and carry out testing on electrical systems and equipment.
• Working on client sites and within the company workshop as required.
• Installing and Commissioning new systems and package plant covering both clean and dirty water processes.
• Complete required paperwork for each project to demonstrate installation and testing work has been carried out successfully and accurately.
• Following set designs and manufacturers installation guides, utilising design drawings and wiring diagrams to complete assigned projects.
• Survey electrical systems and plans, ensuring compliance with BS7671 requirements and client specific standards.
• Completing risk assessments, activity reports and other documentation as required.
• Offering after sales technical support.

This is a field-based position requiring a flexible approach to work and the ability to stay away when needed.

 

The Candidate

To be considered for this position candidates will be expected to have a background in performing Electrical maintenance / installation/ testing, ideally with experience working in the water industry or on water treatment plants. Control and automation experience would be advantageous.  Candidates are expected to be Electrically qualified to NVQ level 3 or equivalent and will ideally hold 18th edition and 2391 Test and Inspection. A valid CSCS/ECS is preferable as well as confined space training but this is not essential.  Due to the nature of this role, candidates must hold a full UK driving licence and be flexible to travel across the South and stay away.
