Key Responsibility: 

Supporting the delivery of nuclear power plant operating equipment to the client, from external suppliers, through the following activities:

  • Create/amend technical specifications for new equipment scope, utilising expert inputs where applicable.
  • Perform surveillance and approval of contractor deliverables and design activities.
  • Lead contract technical and project meetings
  • Resolution activities for multi-disciplinary technical issues and queries, including input to/ownership of resolving technical Open Points (OP), interface queries and Design Changes (UKDC).
  • Management of technical specialists to perform review of deliverables and to resolve technical issues.
  • Review and approve contract amendments and exemptions (CTSs, ERs)
  • Liaise with RD and client teams to ensure integration of equipment with interfacing functions/systems/structures.
Qualifications

Profile:

  • Understanding of nuclear process and mechanical interfaces (anchorages, civil work, piping, fluids, radioprotection, safety, systems engineering)
  • Good knowledge of Diesel Engines
  • Capable of producing technical specifications
  • Sound understanding of nuclear processing regulations

  Black &Veatch Construction has a Waste-to-Energy project in the UK.  We are seeking a Site Manager - WtE - UK who will be responsible for successful execution of the construction and start-up of the project. They will provide leadership to the project staff and all organizations on site; direct staff in the daily/weekly planning process; function as a representative for Black & Veatch in all interactions involving the Owner and Contract; implement Black & Veatch standards and procedures; develop project specific procedures and allocates resources; and makes decisions in support of project strategies.  Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for updating and completing the Construction Execution Plan. 
  • Reviews and refines the plan as the project progresses. 
  • Directs overall construction effort including coordination of erection activities, suppliers, direct hire craft labor, subcontractors, startup and testing activities, and the owner. 
  • Directs implementation of the Construction Processes and Procedures Manual (CPPM) and insures requests for deviations are submitted when necessary.
