As a Industrial Mechanic, you will be responsible for:

  • Ability to Perform major or minor maintenance on mobile equipment when necessary at the East and West Plant. 
  • Ability to Operate multiple pieces of equipment such as welders, cutting torches, hand tools, overhead cranes, forklifts, loaders and other miscellaneous equipement. 
  • Inspect, evaluate, and determine what parts are needed to repair mobile equipment within the area of the East and West Plants. 
  • Manage and communicate with operators preventative maintenance schedule on mobile equipment
  • Inform operators on status of repairs
  • Keep track of all service records and work with the preventative maintenance person for the creation and closing out of work orders, and any parts needed to complete the job. 
  • Keep track of equipment hours to keep a routine maintenance schedule
  • Complete work orders in a timely manner
  • Be sure to have a work order created for any maintenance jobs that are performed
  • Fill out time cards as per hours worked on mobile equipment. If it is for a specific project then put that project name in instead of the area
  • Assist millwrights and clean up shop at slow times
  • The work requirements are not limited to these primary duties.

Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) when required to verify weld integrity.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in welding and metal fabrication.

  • Proficiency in MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), Stick (SMAW), and Flux-Core Arc Welding (FCAW).

  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols accurately.

  • Strong understanding of metallurgy, welding metallurgy, and heat treatment.

  • Experience operating and maintaining fabrication shop tools such as saws, grinders, drills, and press brakes.
