Job Title: Insulation Installer

• Temp to Hire
• Hours are 7:00am-3:30pm Monday to Friday
• Wage: $18.00-20.00hr

Insulation Installer position is being offered by an insulation and window installing company that has been in business in Salem, OR since 1975 offering services in insulation, window installation, siding, duct and air sealing, ductless heat pumps and duct cleaning. 

As an Insulation Installer you will be responsible for:

• For Underfloor Installers: will need to be able to get into crawl spaces under homes (sometimes tight spaces)
• For Attic Installers: will need to be able to work in hot environment when warm weather is upon us.
• Insulation installation experience very helpful, but not mandatory
• Remove old insulation and dispose of it properly
• Measure and cut insulation to fit into walls and around pipes
• Fasten insulation in place with staples, tape, or screws
• Use compressors to spray insulation into some spaces
• Install plastic barriers to protect insulation from moisture
• Follow safety guidelines

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• Experience working with Insulation OR willingness to learn new skill and some basic adeptness with physical work
• Valid Drivers License and good MVR for last 3 years is PREFERRED but not required. May have to drive company vehicles to worksites
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required
• Ability to lift and/or move 50 lbs. frequently throughout the day.
• Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach
• Willingness to work hard
• Willingness to learn new skill and some basic adeptness with physical work

• Repair and Maintain Mechanical Equipment— Service, repair, adjust, and test machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical principles
• Repair of electric and hydraulic lift-gates
• Computer aided troubleshooting and diagnostics

• Sort and stack lumber according to size, grade, and specifications
• Remove defective or off-grade pieces from the chain
• Watch for jams, misfeeds, or mechanical issues on the planer chain
• Lift, turn, and move boards from the conveyor to appropriate stacks or carts
• Cleaning and maintaining planer chains to ensure optimal performance and longevity
