Position Overview & Responsibilities for the Accela Business Analyst:
Analyze current business processes and identify areas for improvement within the Accela permitting and licensing system.
Collaborate with departmental stakeholders and cross-functional teams to gather and translate business requirements into technical solutions aligned with Accela capabilities.
Lead system configuration, enhancement, and troubleshooting efforts, ensuring solutions are delivered on time and meet user needs.
Coordinate and execute quality assurance testing to verify functionality and alignment with business and technical requirements.
Work closely with Accela developers and IT staff to resolve issues and implement system improvements that boost performance and user satisfaction.
Use tools such as Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Power BI, and Jira for documentation, analysis, and communication.
Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Hands-on experience with Accela systems, particularly in permitting and licensing within local government environments.
Preferred Qualifications:3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst working directly with the Accela platform.
Proven experience in documenting requirements, configuring or managing Accela systems, and supporting user adoption.
Strong background in facilitating user acceptance testing (UAT) and conducting quality assurance validations.
Familiarity with agile project management methodologies.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, Teams, SharePoint, Power BI, and Jira.
