Position Overview for the Sr. Systems Engineer - Mail & Messaging:

  • Design, develop, and maintain services and automation supporting enterprise mail and messaging infrastructure.
  • Write and maintain production-quality code in Python or a comparable language to improve reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues involving email systems, backend services, networking, and Linux platforms.
  • Implement and support service integrations, APIs, and operational tooling used by the Mail & Messaging team.
  • Drive small to medium-sized projects within the team, identifying opportunities to improve processes, automation, and service health.

Requirements for the Sr. Systems Engineer - Mail & Messaging:

  • Strong experience administering and troubleshooting Linux-based systems in production environments.
  • Proficiency in Python or another modern programming language, with experience building and maintaining production services.
  • Experience supporting or developing internet email technologies such as SMTP, message routing, authentication, mail delivery, anti-spam controls, or related messaging platforms.
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, distributed systems concepts, and system performance troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently deliver technical projects, collaborate across teams, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
