Pay: $20.00/hour Hours: Tuesday through Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM; Summer Schedule Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM Start Date: ASAP

As a Custodian, you play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming school environment. You'll work closely with the Head Custodian to ensure the school remains a productive and healthy space for students and staff. If you're reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently, this role is perfect for you.

What You'll Do As a Custodian, you will be responsible for:
  • Cleaning classrooms, hallways, bathrooms, gyms, offices, and common areas to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
  • Removing trash, recycling, and sanitizing high-touch surfaces such as desks and bathroom fixtures.
  • Restocking supplies and ensuring restrooms are fully stocked and hygienic.
  • Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and performing general floor care to keep all areas tidy.
  • Assisting with summer deep cleaning projects and moving furniture or equipment as needed.
  • Changing light bulbs and ceiling tiles to ensure building safety and functionality.
  • Securing the building after each shift and supporting outdoor winter maintenance such as shoveling and salting.
  • Supporting other district facilities and completing additional duties as assigned by the Head Custodian or Facilities Department.

What You'll Bring The ideal candidate will have:
  • Previous custodial, janitorial, maintenance, or facilities experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work independently with a strong sense of reliability and good attendance.
  • Physical ability to lift, bend, stand, walk, and perform cleaning duties throughout the shift.
  • Comfort working in a school environment, handling occasional outdoor winter tasks.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • A current or pending Maine Criminal History Records Check (CHRC). (Will complete prior to starting)
