The Civil/Structural Engineer role is a key position in the development of the Hinkley Point C project throughout its design and construction phase and comes with a salary of up to £50,000 dependant on experience.   • Modifying reinforced concrete or steel structure designs compliant with the ETC-C or other relevant codes (Eurocodes) and project methodology.
  • Checking and coordinating detailing activities with CAD designers or other engineers in preparation of 3D BIM rebar models and/or 2D drawings of reinforced concrete or steel structures.
  • Manage and modify structural designs using software such as TEKLA.
  • Managing engineering changes in line with company/project procedures and QA processes.
  • Assessing and responding to Field Changes Requests, Field Information Requests, or Site Non-Conformances from civil works contractors.
  • Liaising with other stakeholders of the site engineering team or construction team for clarification on site requests.
  • Coordinating with the back office for clarification on design packages or for resolving design package issues.
  • Technical review and acceptance of contractor deliverables.
  • Site walkdowns and inspections.
  • Responsibility for schedule for engineering tasks reporting to the management, scheduling and commercial requirement.
  • Working with contractors on site to deliver the implementation of engineering solutions.
    Professional qualifications & personal characteristics We are looking for someone with the following:  
  • Proven experience in the civil, infrastructure, structural, method, or temporary works engineering and design.
  • Hands-on knowledge of detailed design processes and their application in construction.
  • Familiarity with structural software such as TEKLA.
  • Experience within highly regulated industries, such as nuclear or heavy industry sectors, is desirable.
  • Previous experience working as a Civil Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, Method Engineer, Structural Engineer or Temporary Works Engineer.
  • Working knowledge of the detailed design phases and how this is transitioned to the construction phase

  • Demonstrates leadership and commitment to Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ).
  • Ensures risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) are reviewed with regards to HSE requirements and that work is carried out in accordance with the RAMS.
  • Manage and implement processes and tools within area of responsibility
