Energy Recovery Facilities are vital in supporting the UK’s ambition to reduce waste in an efficient and effective manner, helping to reduce the impact of waste on climate change. After reducing, reusing and recycling as much as possible, our Energy Recovery Facilities (ERFs) provide the infrastructure to efficiently recover energy from residual waste, meaning landfill becomes the last resort. 

 

We have an opportunity in Bargeddie for an Operations Manager to join our team. working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

 

The salary for this role will be £60,850.00 per year, plus participation in a yearly bonus scheme, in addition to our great range of benefits.

 

 

 

About the role

As our Operations Manager, you will provide leadership of the site to drive safety, compliance and a best in class performance. Leading by example, you’ll promote a positive working environment for all employees.

 

Utilising team resource, you’ll plan and deliver both production requirements and maintenance strategy efficiently to deliver budget and targets and ensure that maximum plant availability and upkeep of site infrastructure is achieved.

 

Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll collaborate to drive the site forward and implement sustainable process and system improvements. You’ll have demonstrable experience of processing plant operation and line managing a team.

Astute have been selected to source a CAD Engineer to work for a sustainable energy company in London on a 3 month contract which could extend to 6 months and beyond. They create bespoke solutions per site/company to ensure they are as energy efficient as possible and we’re looking for a CAD Engineer or CAD Designer to join the time to help through a busy period with project work across mechanical, electrical, civil and architectural disciplines.

 

At interview stage, there will be a 3D AutoCAD competency test, likely to involve conversion of a 2D drawing into 3D using the 2D DWG in under an hour.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, as a CAD Engineer or CAD Designer, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Preparing 2D and 3D drawings layout drawings
  • Working on a variety of projects, anything from hospital plant room design and install, to HVAC design in airports
  • Design the layout and integration of new or modified equipment for HVAC and plant rooms
  • Able to conduct site surveys in order to accurately draw and design
  • Able to design to programme and timescales
  • Liaising with project teams, suppliers and clients alike
  • Read P&IDs and update design drawings

 

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

 

  • Minimum 2 years of genuine AutoCAD 2D and 3D experience
  • Experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D and/or AutoCAD MEP

What will I be doing?

 

The Production Engineers' job function is to provide engineering support to specific aspects of ELGA Labwater Manufacturing facilities in both the UK and China.

 

The Production Engineer’s primary focus will be to take lead responsibility for the product integration from the development engineering phase to the manufacturing environment.

 

Key responsibilities;

  • Involved in the early development stage of new product development, working closely with the engineering team to help assess new product suitability for mass production. This will also include improvements to existing product portfolios.
  • Identify and produce any bespoke tooling, jigs, or fixtures required for testing and mass production for different teams across the manufacturing facility. e.g, Quality Control, Research & Development.
  • Able to visualise and plan processes and layout, stage material flow on the production floor and coordinate primarily mechanical and electrical build activities.
  • Produce and update work instructions in order to manufacture products in the most efficient way/lean manufacturing. This will include assembly instruction documents and videos. Training of technicians will also be part of this process.
  • Manage new parts and BOMs on new products.
  • Work closely with Quality Control to investigate and resolve any quality issues with products/parts. This Quality Assurance process ensures control and traceability to all modifications to ELGA-released products.
  • Represents the department and provides critical feedback to project leaders.
  • Coordinates actions across departments and may check on quality and work progress.
  • Tasks will be time-sensitive to overall project delivery dates.

 

Do I have what it takes?
