• Lead the design of distributed energy schemes, energy centres, District Heating networks up to the point of heat delivery
• Rectify design issues to minimise impact on plant performance
• Design systems in the form of schematics, calculations, equipment selection, detailed drawings and BMS control strategies
• Liaise with internal and external designers, customers and in-house project teams
• Conduct HAZOP Studies, Risk Assessments, DSEAR assessments, and DESOPs
• Provide an understanding of current Building Regulations, industry guidance such as CIBSE, BSRIA, and all pertinent legislation
• Advise with specifying the mechanical aspects for tendering works
• Conduct site inspection reports and provide technical support during construction
• Develop commissioning plans and oversee commissioning activities with internal and external commissioning engineers.

• Degree qualified
• Chartered status (desirable)

    Personal skills: The Senior Design Mechanical Engineer role would suit someone who:

• 5-7 years’ experience within a design environment
• Sound understanding of design principles including heating/cooling distribution, boiler/CHP systems, ventilation systems, flue systems, general HVAC / building services engineering, with steam system design principles being advantageous but not essential.
• An understanding of National Design Specifications (NES/NBS) and competent in AutoCAD (2D)

• Monitoring performance of operating projects, identifying areas for improvements with deep analysis of the performance of the site, identifying issues and suggesting improvements.
• Reports writing and reviewing for the assets.
• Working closely with Portfolio Managers and Business Development Manager on any issues and the Development Manager and Head of O&M on annual maintenance budgets.
• Hr related involvement and support - recruiting, training, supervising and appraisals for the monitoring team and raising any H&S concerns with manager.
• Liasing with clients after events.
• Supporting field service team with site specific reporting templates via iAuditor and/or other platforms.

    Skills & Qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:

• M onitoring of solar farms  remotely , from a system perspective to individual components: strings, pyros, SCBs, inverters, transformers temperature, trackers, coolant checks.
• Identifying issues, coordinating faults and investigations with the service technician team. 
• Resetting inverters remotely when needed. Activation/deactivation of GFDI protocols
• Report generation  and ch asing engineers ensuring all reports are received especially  corrective reports.
• Event notifications, updating the clients.
