Role and Responsibilities

The Engineering Project Manager will be responsible for:
  • Management and responsibility for a variety of renewable energy projects.  
  • Preparation and/or review of technical design elements.
  • Preparation of documentation and management procurement processes.
  • Ensuring financial and technical targets are met in delivering projects.
  • Effective management of, and reporting on, project risks.
  • Facilitation of agreements and contract negotiation.
  • Management and supervision of contractors carrying out services and construction on projects.
  • Communication with external stakeholders (e.g. landowners, developers, community bodies, planning authorities, community relations, grid network operators).
  • Identify and provide project tasks/details for tracking purposes.
  • Update the project team/disciplines on scope, status, changes of the project and schedule/expectations and ensure effective communication with all project stakeholders.
  • Management, detailed tracking and communication of project progress from a task, time, schedule, and cost perspective.
  • Manage changes in project scopes, identifies solutions for potential issues and derive contingency plans as required, while engaging the appropriate resources.

 

Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position will:

 

  • Chartered Engineer status preferable
  • Proven track record in planning, executing, managing and closing on projects
  • Experience of leading projects within renewable energy
  • Procurement knowledge to provide guidance to procurement focal and to draft contracts
  • Proven track record of delivering projects within scope, on time and on budget.
  • Experience in preparation of pre-FEED and FEED level reports and documentation to inform investment decisions
  • Knowledge and experience of the UK Renewable Industry

Key Responsibility: 

Supporting the delivery of nuclear power plant operating equipment to the client, from external suppliers, through the following activities:

  • Create/amend technical specifications for new equipment scope, utilising expert inputs where applicable.
  • Perform surveillance and approval of contractor deliverables and design activities.
  • Lead contract technical and project meetings
  • Resolution activities for multi-disciplinary technical issues and queries, including input to/ownership of resolving technical Open Points (OP), interface queries and Design Changes (UKDC).
  • Management of technical specialists to perform review of deliverables and to resolve technical issues.
  • Review and approve contract amendments and exemptions (CTSs, ERs)
  • Liaise with RD and client teams to ensure integration of equipment with interfacing functions/systems/structures
Qualifications

Profile:

  • Understanding of nuclear process and mechanical interfaces (anchorages, civil work, piping, fluids, radioprotection, safety, systems engineering)
  • Good knowledge of Valves 
  • Capable of producing technical specifications
  • Sound understanding of nuclear processing regulations
  • Experience on the design of the EPR TEP/TEU systems, or other nuclear / safety classified tanks, fluid handling systems and mechanical components.
  • Experience of equipment supply contracts and contract forms such as NEC/FIDIC.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and taking responsibility for your site Maintenance team colleagues, you will be accountable for the safe and effective delivery of day to day site maintenance.

Our ideal Maintenance Supervisor will have:

 

  • Previous experience working within a process, production or manufacturing background.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate others.
  • A background in Engineering.
  • A good understanding of a proactive maintenance strategy and condition monitoring.
  • An understanding of Safe Systems of Work.
  • A high level of organisation with the ability to prioritise workloads.

Your Mission:

We are seeking an Experienced Electrical Engineer to bolster the technical capabilities of one of our major client's Design Authority (DA) near Helensburgh. This role is ideal for candidates with Electrical Design experience, but those with backgrounds in Electrical Installation or Maintenance are also encouraged to apply.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Site visits to undertake construction feasibility assessments, monitor construction progress, reviewing works against quality and contractual requirements.
  • Ensure the highest HSQE standards are always maintained.
  • Support the preparation of project tender information. Additionally, prepare subcontractor or suppliers’ specifications and scope of works for contracting.

Our plastics reprocessing facility in Avonmouth, Bristol will reprocess over 80,000 tonnes of plastic every year - more than 1.6 billion bottles, tubs, and trays – creating recycled raw material to return to the economy. Plastic recycling at the facility will save 126,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year, the equivalent of taking over 67,000 cars off the road

 

We have a new opportunity for an Execution Engineer to join our team at out new Polymers facility in Avonmouth, Bristol for 42.5 hours pr week, from Monday to Friday.

 

The salary for this role is circa £54,000 per year, plus participation in a yearly bonus scheme, where you could earn up to 10% of your base salary.

 

 

About the role

 

The Execution Engineer will be part of our multi-disciplinary maintenance team and will play an integral role in the delivery of the maintenance strategy at our Avonmouth Polymer Reprocessing Facility. The primary purpose of this role is the effective execution of breakdown and corrective maintenance work, as well as supporting the root cause analysis process to implement preventive actions to improve overall plant availability.

 

Working collaboratively with EC&I engineer, Mechanical Engineer and the Maintenance Planner, the Execution Engineer will lead the site multi-functional maintenance team to execute planned and reactive maintenance activities to ensure machine condition, availability and standards are maintained.

 

The Execution Engineer will provide technical support/governance to ensure improvement projects are executed to the correct standards and in line with site plan, as well as owning the statutory inspections.

 

In addition, this role will be responsible for ensuring a positive safety culture is upheld at all levels and financial targets are met within their department

 

What are we looking for?

 

  • Understanding in a mechanical/electrical engineering role from areas such as FMCG/ manufacturing/ waste management.
  • Full working understanding and ability to lead root cause analysis (RCA) and provide effective engineering solutions
  • Ability to successfully manage and deliver on multiple tasks with competing priorities and strict time lines
  • An experienced Mechanical/Electrical Engineer with relevant background and level of expertise, with a focus on plant maintenance
  • Experience of developing technical solutions from concept selection, through design development, installation and commissioning.
  • HNC/HND qualified in a Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or in a closely related subject
