Plant employees are assigned tasks within the normal operation of an industrial laundry facility.  The assigned tasks are repetitive in nature and acceptable proficiency can normally be attained within a few days

All positions in the plant require the following:

*Perform the assigned tasks in a proficient manner.  This includes attaining a minimum of 100% of the production standard for tasks for which production standards have been established.  

*Maintain high quality standards on all work performed.  Inspect all materials for damage or excessive wear and properly report the finding to the appropriate responsible person for resolution.

*Maintain a clean and hazard free work area.  Immediately report all broken or malfunctioning equipment or safety hazards to the appropriate person for corrective action.

*Follow all company and work rules.  Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.

*Support an environment of continuous improvement by making suggestions and implementing where possible.

 

Duties and Responsibilities for Cleanroom Labor:

  • Remove cleaned garments from carts
  • Grade merchandise per pre-established standards
  • Properly fold and bundle shop towels, bar towels, fender covers, overalls and other items requiring folding, inspection and bundling
  • Move folded and bundled items to route make-up area by conveyor or cart
  • Would be fully suited up while in clean room

Will Assist in the Steam Tunnel - duties include:

  • Unload carts of clean garments from the washroom
  • Place garments on hangers and hang them on the conveyor system leading to the steam tunnel
  • Inspect garments for damage, excessive wear or failure to properly clean and report findings to appropriate person

Will assist in the Pressing Department - duties include:

  • Unload carts of clean garments from the washroom
  • Properly press garments utilizing a combination of flat irons or automatic pressing machines as is appropriate
  • Place the garments on hangers
  • Place pressed garments on conveyor system for further processing
  • Inspect garments for damage, excessive wear or failure to properly clean and report findings to appropriate person

Skills and Qualifications for all positions:

  • Prompt arrival and regular attendance at work
  • Experience in production or manufacturing environment helpful, but not necessary
  • Ability to differentiate between colors, recognize, record and match numbers, distinguish between cotton and synthetics and be able to stand for an 8 hour day with appropriate breaks/lunch

Production Worker / Packaging Operator Responsibilities:
  • The packaging operator is required to perform two functions: the bagging operation and the baler operation. The packaging operator must maintain the ability to perform both bagging and baler functions as determined by the Shift Leads
  • Operate machinery in a productive manner using the established safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Responsible for assisting other production areas, as needed.
  • Move and wrap completed products.
  • Will be lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for a minimum of 7 hours per day
  • Assist the Shift Leads to start and stop the pellet mills.

 The Bagging Operation:

  • Responsible for operating a variety of machinery, primarily bagging and baler machines, shrink wrapping machines, forklifts, pallet jack, and bag sealer.
  • Stacking bags on pallets, putting covers on pallets and placing finished goods in the correct warehouse location.
  • Position requires accurate completion of the Bagger production report, filling pellet sample cups every ton for quality control information, and tagging pallet with Quality Control tag with initials, date, ton number, and the shift the pallet was completed.

Production Worker / Packaging Operator Qualifications/Education:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior forklift and production line experience preferred.
  • Will require good eye, hand, and foot coordination.
