Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Case Management Assistant:

  • Collaborate with Case Managers and Social Workers to assess patient needs and develop discharge plans
  • Ensure all necessary referrals, authorizations, and transportation arrangements are completed
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (Epic)
  • Manage clerical tasks such as copying, faxing, scanning, and data entry
  • Participate in daily team huddles and department meetings to share knowledge and resolve issues

 

Required Skills for Case Management Assistant:

  • Proficiency with Epic EHR
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Intermediate PC skills, including word processing and data entry
  • Exceptional time management and problem-solving skills

  • Repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect a wide variety of clinical equipment, devices, and systems

  • Perform preventative maintenance and electrical safety testing of clinical equipment

  • Diagnose and correct system and equipment malfunctions

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation on new equipment, inspections, and equipment repairs and failures

  • Schedule and oversee third-party repairs as necessary

  • Provide technical assistance and instruction on equipment operation and maintenance to personnel

Required Skills for Level 3 Biomedical Tech:

 
  • 4-6 years of experience as a Level 3 Biomedical Technician

  • Associate's degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology

  • Strong knowledge of medical equipment, electronics, and mechanical systems

  • CBET certification

  • Prior experience in an Acute Care Hospital setting

  • Comfortable working in patient rooms
