  • Program & Setup Mastery: Set up, calibrate, and edit complex CNC programs using Mastercam, Esprit, or similar CAD/CAM software to manufacture intricate, close-tolerance parts.

  • Multi-Axis Operations: Independently operate and monitor advanced multi-axis CNC machines (including mills, lathes, and mill-turn centers) for optimal performance.

  • Precision Tuning: Calculate and adjust machine controls on the fly, regulating cutting parameters (speeds, feeds, and depth of cut) appropriate for exotic materials and complex geometries.

  • Quality & Inspection: Perform rigorous self-inspections utilizing precision measuring instruments to guarantee that all prototype components flawlessly match engineering blueprints.

  • Process Optimization: Troubleshoot technical machining anomalies in real-time and manage multiple machines simultaneously to maximize shop efficiency.

  • Equipment Stewardship: Conduct advanced preventive and corrective maintenance on shop machinery to ensure the R&D lab remains in peak operating condition.

What You'll Bring (Qualifications)
  • Proven Expertise: 5+ years of hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC lathes, mills, and multi-axis mill-turn centers.

  • Blueprint Fluency: Mastery in interpreting complex blueprints, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and technical engineering drawings.

  • Technical Math: Strong foundational skills in advanced shop math, including trigonometry and algebra, for calculating precise machine coordinates.
