Introduction

Our Client is one of the UK's leading provider of recycling, renewable energy and waste management solutions, offering a full range of services through a vast and growing network of plants and facilities across the country. As such, they are looking for a strong and experienced MBT Supervisor to join their Mechanical Biological Treatment centre and MRF in Glasgow. This role will see you overseeing a team of experienced operators across the waste processing facility.

 

 

Role & Responsibilities

Working as the MBT Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of a busy waste processing facility. This will include:

  • Day to day management of the MRF and the MBT process, managing a team of operators, chargehands and cleaners across the site. This will cover a wet prep area, AD facility and recycling plant.
  • Leading the team across the site to ensure operations run in line with production targets and company set KPI’s, maximising the efficiency of the plant.
  • Managing all health, safety and compliance across the operations, ensuring best practice is maintained at all times.
  • Working in both a supervisory and a hands-on role when needed.
  • Other duties as required.

This role is working on a shift basis covering earlies, lates and night shifts across a 24/7 operation. This may include weekend work. Please only apply if this is suitable for you.

 

 

The Candidate

To be considered for this position, candidates should have previous experience working in a Supervisor/ Management role supervising a team in a busy production / process environment.

 

Previous knowledge and experience covering Waste processing or production/industrial process heavy sectors related to the Waste Management industry such as FMCG, manufacturing, aggregates, water treatment or renewable energy.

 

Candidates should have excellent knowledge of current Health and Safety procedures as well as demonstrable background implementing these across a complex team and should be able to communicate across all levels successfully. An IOSH certificate would be beneficial.

The successful candidate will have a significant voice within Augean and their advice will be listened to and will influence the future development of the company. We are looking for an environmental advisor with experience in the waste sector to join our established Corporate Stewardship team, supporting the business on all matters related to environmental compliance, permitting and planning and environmental social and corporate governance (ESG), across our business. This role is vital in providing key advice, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and guidance across the waste planning and permitting spectrum. The knowledge and capability of the successful candidate will contribute to managing Augean’s relationship with the environment and our neighbours, on society and on the economy through the development and implementation of appropriate reduction targets for environmental, social and corporate governance reporting commitments and guiding our path to net zero. The Role The role reports to the Head of Planning and Permitting. The Environmental Advisor will be responsible for:
  • Working in the Corporate Stewardship team to provide technical support on all environmental compliance matters across our sites.
  • Providing waste compliance advice for new business acquisitions and site development strategies.
  • Providing competent and accurate advice to the business on environmental, waste regulatory and waste planning issues, using core knowledge on regulatory requirements and the potential future impacts that changes to legislation or guidance may bring.
  • Working regularly with regulators such as the Environment Agency/ SEPA, Local Planning Authorities and the Health and Safety Executive, providing key environmental advice on any issues that arise on behalf of Augean and our clients.
  • Building strong working relationships with colleagues and external networks within the waste industry to overcome problems effectively.

Our Client is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join their Recycling Facility on a full time permanent bases, based in Halesfield. This role will be leading and supporting their Engineering and Maintenance function across the team, strengthening the current strategy on-site.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for:
  • Leading and developing all maintenance and engineering strategies across a fast-paced recycling facility.
  • Working closely with the head of Engineering to develop and lead a strong planned maintenance structure, optimising and utilising current assets from performance data.
  • Working to build a strong basis for maintenance procedures across the site to set the standard for future maintenance strategies.
  • Assist alongside the Operations Manager, Unit Manager and Area Manager to influence and assist in key decision-making processes for engineering functions across the site. Working to provide financial and performance reporting where necessary.
