• Oversee final stages of the project reporting into Site Manager on site.
• Ensure all systems and components are installed and tested to correct standards.
• Site walks with client and subcontractors to create snagging lists.
• Oversee sub-contractors to ensure issues are resolved and working on time.
• Maintain records of all activities and identify and resolve issues during completion phase.
• Ensure all activities adhere to H&S regulations.
• Must ideally hold EfW experience, working with or hold an understanding of working for a Principal Contractor.

Astute’s Power team is looking to recruit a P6 Planner on a pipework installation project in Hertfordshire on a 9-12 month contact basis for a start in November.     Key skills required for the P6 Planner:    

• Working with the PM and pipe coordinators to create a resource loaded baseline (contract) schedule in Primavera P6.
• Progress will be measured using physical percent complete. User defined fields will establish the physical percent complete by recording meters installed against individual sub-system total meterage’s.
• Record progress and monitor performance against scheduled percent complete. 
• Manage the schedule daily, record delays by intersecting activities with delay durations inserted as activities to assist commercial EOT claims.
• Carry out routine critical path analysis and identify mitigation measures to recover any negative float / delays.
• Produce look ahead schedules as identified by the contract and / or requested by the Project Manager.
• Produce progress / quantity curves for weekly reports.
• Experience on piping or pipework scope of works will be highly beneficial
• Must have CSCS Card or able to obtain one.

Astute’s Power team looking to recruit a Cladding Site Supervisor in the Energy from Waste sector a 12–18-month contract for a site in the West Midlands. The Cladding Site Supervisor role comes with a day rate of £450.00.             Key skills  

• Demonstrates leadership and commitment to Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ).
• Ensures risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) are reviewed with regards to HSE requirements and that work is carried out in accordance with the RAMS.
• Manage and implement processes and tools within area of responsibility
• Ensure that works within area of responsibility are executed in accordance with the contract and conform with project time, budget and HSEQ requirements.
• Manage reporting site supervision and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of relevant scope, in the required quality and in a safe working ambient
• Take full ownership of Civil operations in the delegated Area / Section
• Keep records of all construction activities
• Ensure proper look ahead regarding design and other relevant drivers and interface with Contract Manager Civil on commercial issues to ensure proper transparency on site execution matters
• Elaborate and if necessary, revises the Civil Specialized Structure Schedules
• Hold execution meetings (Kick-off, weekly, monthly internal and external)
• Must ideally have a University degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• Must have previous experience as Supervisor with either an EPC / Subcontractor Civil company in the Energy from Waste Sector
• Must have an SMSTS and CSCS/CCNSG or SCC

Astute’s Power team is partnering with leading principal contractor in the Energy from Waste sector to recruit a Commissioning Mechanical Maintenance Engineer on a project in Kent.            Key skills  

• Support the commissioning team in all mechanical issues (filter cleaning and exchange, dismount pumps, etc.) 
• Reports any variations and issues to the Commissioning Manager 
• Maintains all mechanical tools in a clean state and ready to use 
• Liaises and coordinates with other project team members, in particular the Commissioning Manager, Commissioning Lead Engineers and Operations personnel 
• Review and implement maintenance routines and schedules as per supplier OM and plant maintenance and preservation requirements 
• Ensures routines are maintained and recorded on the plant management systems i.e. PAMELA and or CMMS etc 
• Carry out required maintenance tasks in the field and record completion of maintenance tasks in shift books, produce activity progress report on regular basis as required by Commissioning manager 
• Collect samples as required by the commissioning manager or lead engineer i.e. water, oil, waste, IBA etc 
• Must have mid-level experience in a maintenance role in EFW, Power plant and/or heavy industrial setting.
• Beneficial to have strong understanding of mechanical systems i.e pumps, filters, and rotating equipment.

Astutes Power Team are currently recruiting an HSE Advisor to join a leading sub-contractor on a site in Scotstoun, Glasgow. You will be required to work only 1 day a week on a long-term contract.    The HSE Advisor position is paying £300.00 per day.      Key skills required for the HSE Advisor role 

• Ensure all health and safety documentation is up to date, accurate, and compliant with current legislation.
• Maintain records of site inductions, training certificates, inspection reports, permits to work, and other H&S paperwork.
• Support the site management team in document control and administration related to health and safety.
• Provide guidance to site staff on completing forms and understanding H&S documentation requirements.
• Must have NEBOSH and experience on a large-scale construction project.
• Must be flexible to work only 1 day a week (Monday – Thursday)

They are looking to recruit 6 x Sheet Metal Workers on a 3-month minimum contract for its site in Essex.      The Sheet Metal Worker role comes with a competitive hourly rate.       Key skills required for the Sheet Metal Worker role   

• Required to carry out boiler cladding works
• Must be able to work with trapezoidal and flat sheet metal
• Able to perform various finishing tasks such as corners and hatches
• Must have a solid understanding of sheet metal work
• Must hold a valid VCA or CSCS Card, Working at Heights, Abrasive Wheels & Manual Handling Certificate
• Must also hold all PPE & relevant Tools such as Drill, Marking Measure Talmeter, Riveting & Universal Pliers, Special Wool Scissors, Wool Cutting Knife, AWL, Tape Measure, Offset cutting snips, Divider, Locking Grip Pliers, Square, Straps with buckle, Wire Tie Tool and Pincers.

• Mentor the commercial team where required promoting CPD, etc.
• Oversee all assigned commercial accounts in line with the R&Rs outlined below.
• Actively chase up applications, payment certs and associated payments.
• Negotiate, agree, and close out final accounts.
• Ensure compliance on assigned commercial accounts are in line with contractual obligations surrounding payment terms/commercial calendar and construction law.
• In the unlikely event of a dispute, oversee, negotiate, attend and see through dispute resolution meetings through necessary means such as arbitration or similar.
• Establish, update and maintain a schedule of rates for tendering purposes

Astute’s Power team is partnering with a leading insulation subcontractor in the Energy from Waste sector to recruit Thermal Insulation Labourers on a 10-month contract for its Kent site. The Thermal Insulation Labourer role comes with an hourly rate of £16.95.             Key skills  

• Work closely with Thermal Insulation Engineer on day -to – day basis
• Helping and support engineers on site with materials and general insulation works
• Adhere to all general H&S on site
• Must hold either CSCS / CCNSG
• Site experience in either Oil & Gas, Energy, Nuclear, Waste Management or similar
