The Site Facilities Assistant role is offered on a 20 month fixed term contract (FTC) basis and comes with a salary of £30,000-£35,000 starting in August 2026. • Acting as the office administrator for the site including managing office supplies, filing, organization of travel, recording and storing of documentation
• Acting as the Facilities Assistant - maintaining the overall operation and upkeep of the site compound, ensuring all facilities are safe, clean, and fully functional. Supporting daily site activities, including managing utilities, coordinating maintenance tasks, and assisting with general site logistics.
• Providing full administrative support to the Site Manager.
• Welcome visitors and clients including arranging catering as required
• Provide full administrative support to the Site Manager.
• Keep the Site Manager informed of all site related activities. 
• Be aware of all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) requirements relevant to their role, and implement and comply with them.
• The candidate should hold strong administrative experience ideally within Construction or Engineering industries.
• Must be comfortable working in a site-based environment, therefore experience in this would be ideal.
• Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications.

• Co-ordination of internal fit-out for an office fit-out.
• Overseen various packages such as drylining, ceiling, flooring, decoration, joinery and general building works.
• Co-ordination of M&E Contractors alongside other Supervisors
• Hold Site & H&S knowledge and logistics.
• Enforce site standards.
• Must hold a good understanding of quality management system and able to plan, monitor and control all aspects.

Astute’s Power team is partnering with a renewable energy provider with a commitment to professional development and sustainability to recruit a Civil Site Design Coordinator on a 12 month for its Fife site. The Civil Site Design Coordinator role comes with a day rate of £350-£425.                   Key skills  

• You are responsible for managing the design processes of subcontractors within the civil works on one of the construction sites in liaison with the Lead Engineer Civil at the Head Office.
• You are responsible for the civil works to be executed in accordance with the contract, and conform with project time, budget, HSE and quality requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil / structural engineering or architecture with at least 5 years of experience in the construction industry. Past working experiences with both consultants and contractors is an added advantage.
• Strong experience in civil project management and design coordination, preferably in large scale civil, industrial or plant business construction projects.

• Keeping on top of all documents and material record books
• Fieldwire or equivalent experience

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in estimating, ideally within cladding, façades, or similar construction packages. Astute’s Power team is partnering with a leading power generation company to recruit an Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation Technician for their Biomass site in Chester on a contract basis for an immediate start.            Key skills  

• Act as the Electrical Duty Holder for the site, ensuring compliance with statutory and company requirements.
• Promote and support plant safety initiatives, including participation in Near Miss and Incident Investigations, and implement resulting recommendations.
• Ensure all Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) assets comply with Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards, policies, and procedures.
• Develop, implement, and test software modules and control systems or equivalent platforms.
• Lead fault-finding and root cause investigations for EC&I systems to identify and resolve technical issues effectively.
• Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including procedures, method statements, and technical guidance.
• Implement, maintain, and test SCADA systems, ensuring optimal performance and data integrity.
• Own and manage the Safety Instrumented System (SIS), including maintenance, proof testing, and performance verification.
• Support outage and maintenance activities, ensuring timely, safe, and compliant completion of all EC&I work, and maintain accurate reporting within the CMMS.
•  Must have experience in a relevant environment/sector (e.g. power station, chemical process)

Astute’s Power team looking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Technician on an OCGT Power Station on a 3/6-month contract basis for its plant in Birmingham from November 2025. The Mechanical Maintenance Technician role comes with a day rate of between £300-350 per day (Inside IR35).             Key skills  

• Responsible for the planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance on mechanical assets such as pumps, gearboxes, valves, gas turbines etc
• Work in line with maintenance techniques and practises
• Assisting in plant developments
• Involved in continuous improvement activities, plant inspections and fault investigation work.
• Liaise with the operations team to ensure plant availability.
• Ideally C&G/NVQ Level 3 minimum in Engineering or Apprentice qualified – Mechanically biased
• Prior experience within heavy process engineering environments such as Power Stations (EfW, Biomass, OCGT/CCGT, CHP)
• Must be familiar with pumps, valves, piping and rotating equipment.

Astute’s Power team are looking to recruit an Site based Project Scheduler on a 24-month contract for a project in Cheshire from October 2026.             Key skills

• Develop, maintain, and update Site System Time Schedules, integrating construction, M&E, and commissioning activities.
• Monitor and report schedule performance using CPM and Float Management, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Coordinate schedules across internal teams, subcontractors, clients, and consortium partners, resolving issues proactively.
• Provide weekly/monthly progress reports, including S-curves, supporting the Construction Manager with on-site data collection.
• Maintain an as-built schedule, comparing baseline vs actual progress, and recommend improvements to prevent delays.
• Must hold a degree in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Must hold Project Scheduler experience in heavy/industrial sectors and projects, ideally EfW / Power generation.
• Must have strong skill sets within MS, MS Projects and advanced Primavera P6.
• Must hold valid safety certifications such as a SCC, CSCS or CCNSG card.
