The Role

Our Client is a leading EPC in the renewable energy field and Power Generation sector, who are consistently bidding and gaining new projects in the Energy from Waste sector in the UK. Currently they have a requirement for a Lead Commissioning Engineers to lead a team of Engineers and Technicians throughout the commissioning of the project. We are looking for candidates with building services experience. 

As Lead Commissioning Engineer, you will bring demonstrable commissioning experience and practical skills to the commissioning team. Working closely with the Commissioning team, you will be responsible for planning, executing and documenting of commissioning and handover activities on the project and programme of works in a safe manner, fully in accordance with company processes, systems, procedures and specifications. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Working in collaboration with the construction team, ensuring that commissioning activities are planned safely and to required quality standards and specifications
  • Providing appropriate support throughout the commissioning phase of the project
  • Updating of commissioning documentation including site reports and assisting with O&M manuals
  • Carrying out and recording of all commissioning tests
  • Liaising with onsite subcontractors where necessary
  • Reporting to the Project Director and Commissioning Manager and updating relevant personnel on site progress 
  • Adhered to health and safety regulations and reporting any incidents appropriately.

Requirements:

  • Commissioning experience gained within Energy from Waste, Biomass, and Gasification projects. 
  • Proven track record in a similar role and ability to communicate well at all levels
  • Building Services experience
  • Ability to work well independently and as well as part of a team

This is an excellent opportunity to work with prestigious clients such as Rolls Royce and work on exciting projects from a range of industry sectors.

As a CNC Turner Setter/Operator, your duties will include:-
  • Setting and Operating CNC Machines
  • Ensuring the highest quality is maintained at all times and the machining processes are running efficiently to maximise productivity.
  • Maintain highest quality throughout the process, including dimensionally inspect manufactured product, using a variety of measuring equipment, to ensure the drawing requirements are achieved.

To be considered for the CNC Turning Setter/Operator role, candidates should be:-
  • Fully conversant in setting/operating Turning machines, ideally Doosan, Bridgeport or Dugard
  • Worked to ISO9001 standards
  • Worked to high tolerance levels

Roles & Responsibilities

As the Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring compliance to quality management systems, policies and procedures to assure compliance to ISO 9001 standards
  • Liaising with internal and external customers on quality concerns
  • Coordinating monthly review and reporting of progress against quality improvement plans
  • Monitoring sub-contractors and inspection activities
  • Undertaking project work on topics including, quality plan, procedure writing, problem solving, investigation reporting, audit and governance programmes
  • Keeping measurement equipment in working condition by following operating instructions
  • Exchanging with the client quality inspector
  • Dealing with document inspection results

 

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline
  • Sound welding knowledge
  • Experience of developing and implementing processes and procedures
  • A good understanding of FIDIC and or NEC3 contracts.
  • Proven experience as a Quality Inspector
  • CSWIP Level 2 Welding Inspection

Our Client is one of the UK's leading provider of Environmental solutions, offering a full range of Waste and Energy Recovery services through a vast and growing network of Plants and Facilities across the country and as such they are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join one of their key sites in Skelmersdale. Working as their Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out key planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance across the recycling facility on a wide variety of heavy plant and equipment.

 

What you will be doing

As the Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Preventative maintenance (PPMs) and reactive maintenance across heavy industrial plant
  • Mechanical fault-finding and route cause analysis techniques
  • Working across all processing plant
  • Maintenance on wash plant,sorting equipment, motors, conveyors and other manufacturing based equipment.
  • Minimising downtime, ensuring plant runs at optimum performance
  • Be able to deliver all work set to the operational expectations and budgetary requirements
  • Keep records using CCM systems
  • Working as part of a shift pattern
  • Other duties as required.

This is 4 on 4 off shift position including night shifts. Please only apply if this is suitable.

 

What you will need

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a Mechanical Engineering/ Maintenance role
  • Heavy Industrial experience – e.g. processing plant, waste, manufacturing
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering diagrams and drawings
  • Pneumatic skills and experience
