Astute’s Power team are looking to recruit a Site based Commercial Manager on an 18-month contract for a construction project, working full time on site, in North London. The Site Commercial Manager comes with a day rate of £550.00 (Outside IR35).             Key skills  

• Take advantage of commercial opportunities and minimise commercial risks for the site
• Oversee site commercial activities and oversee commercial site issues
• Responsible for claim management for selected subcontract packages, establishing necessary documentation, assessing risks as well as incoming and outgoing claim potentials 
• Document site related commercial aspects of changes/deviations/claims in PIRS
• Participate in regular site meetings relating to subcontract packages, verifying respective minutes of meetings
• Support the Project Director and Contract Manager in client related commercial issues, alerting them in relation to subcontractor issues that may have an impact on the contract with the client
• Perform role in accordance with HSEQ requirements
• Must have a minimum of 10 years QS (Quantity Surveyor) experience
• Must have experience in Cost Plus Contract (IChemE Green Book) with a heavy mechanical assembly background
• Ideally have Energy from Waste or similar heavy industrial project experience

Astute’s contract team is partnering with a Global Utilities business to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor on a 2+ year contract for its Northwest London site. The Senior Quantity Surveyor comes with a day rate of £400-£500 per day, Outside IR35 (depending on experience). Key skills required for this position:

• Strong experience with NEC4 contracts
• At least 5+ years’ experience in civil quantity surveying

This is an urgent position so candidates with longer notice periods will unfortunately not be considered for this role.  

 

Astute’s Contract team is working with a UK based Solar Construction business to recruit an Electrical Engineer on a 1-year minimum contract for it’s Leicester & Birmingham sites. The Electrical Engineer position comes with a day rate of £300-£350 per day, Outside IR35 (depending on experience). Key Skills required for the role:

• Have a minimum of 1 year experience working on solar farm projects
• Electrical Engineer degree or equivalent
• CSCS
• SMSTS (desirable)

Additional Information for the role:

• This position will be looking after 2 sites, one in Leicester and one in Birmingham (3 days Leicester, 2 days Birmingham)
• Summer hours are: 7:30-6pm & winter hours are: 8-4:30pm
• Contract will be minimum a year, there is a large project pipeline so could go on for 2+ years

The Quantity Surveyor role comes of £500 per day. Outside IR35.                   Key skills: · Signing of subcontracts and collaborating in the offer phase.

• Co ordinate with Construction, Procurement and Finance Departments in closing of subcontracts.
• Co ordinate with Project Control regarding planning and cost controls on site.

The Civil Site Design Coordinator role comes with a day rate of £350-£425.                   Key skills  

• You are responsible for managing the design processes of subcontractors within the civil works on one of the construction sites in liaison with the Lead Engineer Civil at the Head Office.
• You are responsible for the civil works to be executed in accordance with the contract, and conform with project time, budget, HSE and quality requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil / structural engineering or architecture with at least 5 years of experience in the construction industry. Past working experiences with both consultants and contractors is an added advantage.
• Strong experience in civil project management and design coordination, preferably in large scale civil, industrial or plant business construction projects.

Key skills required for the Quality Electrical Engineer role  

• Oversee and monitor Quality Plans of subcontractors and EPC
• Review and approve subcontractors Technical Procedures
• Oversee subcontractors ITPs
• Oversee subcontractors EC&I testing
• Complete Quality audits to subcontractors and supplier’s installations
• Assemble electrical Final Quality Dossiers
• Detect, submit, and monitor non-conformities

  Astute’s Team is exclusively partnered with a business in the anaerobic digestion sector who are looking for a contractor to assist on an upgrade project on a biogas site. The contract Construction Manager / Site Manager will oversee the implementation of a new CO2 project and upgrade. Please reach out if you’re experienced in completing similar projects in the anaerobic digestion sector and have been a Construction Manager of an anaerobic digestion CAPEX, OPEX or new build project before.                 Responsibilities and duties of the Construction Manager role Reporting to key stakeholders you will:  

• Ensure the timely and proper completion of a CO2 upgrade on an AD plant
• Manage external contractors to complete their works as per plan, contractual obligation and to quality standards
• Oversee HSE of external contractors, reporting on any issues
• Control key elements of the project
• Provide oversight and strategic direction of the implementation of the new technology on site

Professional qualifications   We are looking for someone with the following:  

• Experience managing anaerobic digestion capital projects (or in a very similar environment if not AD)
• Demonstrable experience in successful construction / project completion
