  • Oversee technical operations, team coordination and client communication across a portfolio of BESS sites in Europe
  • Maintain BESS to a high standard by carrying out regular inspections when necessary
  • Provide technical support and advice to Field Service Engineers across the portfolio
  • Look for ways to continually improve technical SOPs and maintenance procedures
  • Regularly review the Field Service Engineer’s performance and the O&M Team’s technical competencies, looking for ways to support and develop the staff
  • Monitor system performance through SCADA and remote monitoring platforms, using data to suggest new and improved ways of operating

The Senior Grid and ICP Procurement Manager role comes with a starting salary up to £86,000 depending on experience, as well as remote working with occasional site travel, and other benefits.   • Lead the preparation of RfQ packages in collaboration with Grid & ICP Engineering teams and manage the full tendering process for grid and ICP connection works.

  • Build and maintain a supplier database for key equipment.
  • Collaborate with global procurement teams to share supplier insights and market intelligence, ensuring a consistent procurement strategy across the group.
  • Support the growth of the Grid & ICP subcontractor and supplier portfolio.
  • Participate in sales discussions with customers, subcontractors, and OEMs.
  • Prepare cost estimates for grid connections of power plants.
  • Support engineering and project delivery teams in refining strategies for interconnection works and battery storage project execution.
  • Develop and implement standardised processes for tendering Grid & ICP works.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards, including anti-bribery and QHSE policies.
  • Lead negotiations and finalisation of contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Act as the escalation point for issues arising in ongoing projects involving Grid/ICP suppliers and subcontractors.
Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:  
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or related discipline - preferred.
  • Alternatively, degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or Commercial Management with strong power sector experience.
  • CIPS qualification (MCIPS or working towards) is highly desirable.
  • Professional membership with relevant institutions (e.g., IET).
  • Extensive experience with Grid / ICP contractors and ICP-related works
  • Experience with solar PV and/or battery storage projects
  • Strong knowledge of UK grid connection processes and ICP frameworks (IDNOs, DNOs, and National Grid ESO interactions).
  • Experience developing and managing RFPs, RFQs, and tender clarifications.
  • Strong cost control and budget management skills for multi-million-pound infrastructure packages.

Astute are exclusively partnered with a global OEM Renewables Business who are looking for a Wind Turbine Technician / Electrical Technician to join their business. The main purpose of the role would be to work in a team who will service and maintain their onshore wind turbines. To be considered for this role you must have Level 3 Electrical qualifications and be from the wind industry, or you’ll be from another sector performing electrical maintenance in a heavy industrial environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Field Area Manager, as a Wind Turbine Technician / Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for:
  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on wind turbines
  • The installation and retrofitting of key electrical components
  • Fault diagnosis and rectification
  • Generating detailed reports on the work completed
  • Covering multiple sites in your region when required, perhaps staying overnight and having periods away from home
  • Working at heights
  • Other duties as required

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for an Electrical Technician with the following:
  • A level 3 electrical qualification is essential
  • 18th edition hugely desirable
  • Commercial or industrial experience and the desire to work in renewable energy
  • A full UK driving licence is essential
