Roles & Responsibilities As the Permit Co-Ordinator, you will be responsible for:
  • To contribute to the development, leadership & delivery of the Operational strategy and KPI’s by acting as a link person between Operations and E&M personnel, driving consistency of response and continuity of approach
  • Drive and actively contribute to the effective and consistent management of the work control process at Fellside, from an Operation’s and E&M perspective.
  • Discuss, agree, and communicate the timing of plant release for maintenance, factoring in known plant defects and conditions.
  • To be recognised as a focal point in providing professional knowledge and advice on the work control process
  • As required, act as a key support person to the duty Shift Manager, on both a day-to-day basis and in times of plant upset or incident.
  • To be fully conversant with the safe working procedures and all site operating and emergency procedures, operating instructions and to have a working knowledge of COMAH regulations.
  • To be conversant with site Major Accident Hazards (MAH) and procedures while source improvements in both the Plant & Business processes, policies, and procedures. To achieve these by identifying any impacts or conflicts at the earliest opportunity & by remaining up to date with industry knowledge, legislation, trends, key organisations, and best practice
  • To develop and maintain effective working relationships with other company personnel, within the Operations and E&M Department. To extend this to all site customers, visitors and external relationships including industry and professional forum representation and local community groups
  • To be fully conversant with the Safe Working Procedures and following relevant training, achieve and maintain Senior Authorised Person Status, including Low Voltage authorisation. Following relevant High Voltage training to be authorised to undertake High Voltage isolations and switching activities on site.
  Skills & Qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:
  • ONC or equivalent in plant operations / production or equivalent engineering discipline qualification.
  • PPO 1, 2 & 3 or equivalent.
  • Time served apprenticeship – desirable.
  • Experience working in and contributing to a continuous process / production environment.
  • Boiler, Gas Turbines, DCS or similar knowledge & experience.

This position is available on either a part time or full-time basis across sites in Birmingham and Northeast of London. The CDM Manager role comes with a day rate of £550-600. Key skills:
  • Undertake suitable pre-qualification exercise and advise Project Engineering Manager in respect of project competency status.
  • Manage CDM compliance throughout the project duration.
  • Identify & Manage pre-construction information (PCI): Review PCI available and, where applicable identify gaps in content and formal communication of the same.
  • Undertake assessments arising from all design stakeholders and manage/coordinate H&S information as applicable. Designer residual risk will feed into the Project Risk Register.
  • Develop and manage the project H&S file strategy.
  • Feed PCI into the mobilisation process and collaborate with Contractors (including PC’s) in the development of design risk information and constructability reviews.

Astute are exclusively partnered with a global OEM Renewables Business who are looking for a Wind Turbine Technician / Electrical Technician to join their business. The main purpose of the role would be to work in a team who will service and maintain their onshore wind turbines.

To be considered for this role you must have Level 3 Electrical qualifications and be from the wind industry, or you’ll be from another sector performing electrical maintenance in a heavy industrial environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Field Area Manager, as a Wind Turbine Technician / Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on wind turbines
  • The installation and retrofitting of key electrical components
  • Fault diagnosis and rectification
  • Generating detailed reports on the work completed
  • Covering multiple sites in your region when required, perhaps staying overnight and having periods away from home
  • Working at heights
  • Other duties as required

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for an Electrical Technician with the following:

  • A level 3 electrical qualification is essential
  • 18th edition hugely desirable
  • Commercial or industrial experience and the desire to work in renewable energy
  • A full UK driving licence is essential

  • Demonstrate leadership and commitment to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ). Actively encouraging and leading teams to implement and comply with project HSEQ requirements.
  • Ensure that relevant HSEQ requirements are incorporated into area of responsibility and, in consultation with site management, HSE and Commissioning team, that HSE hazards are eliminated or mitigated to the extent practicable.
  • Ensure that adequate precautions are taken to provide safety from the system whilst construction / commissioning work is carried out.
