Site Chemist Hazardous Waste

Introduction
We are currently seeking a qualified Site Chemist to work with one of the UK’s leading waste management service providers who focus on the disposal and collection of both hazardous and non-hazardous waste. Working as their Site Chemist, you will be responsible for supporting the daily operations across the waste facility ensuring efficient and effective sampling, testing and analysis of the waste on-site to ensure safe and compliance processing at all times.

To be considered for this position, candidates must have an appropriate chemistry qualification to degree level as well as experience handling a diverse range of chemical compounds including understanding of inter-reactions.
Candidates should have experience working in a Site-based Chemist role or working within an industrial lab with a good understanding of the Waste Management/ Hazardous Waste industry.
This role will require you to work in a hands-on operational capacity outdoors in all weather conditions.

Brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance work across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main MEH, cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station’s 2,500 rooms.
Who we are looking for?
As a Cabling & Equipment Project Manager, we are looking for someone with experience as a project manager on a major electrical project. We require someone with a background in delivering design and manufacturing projects whilst liaising with a multitude of suppliers.
Candidates that have worked in a nuclear environment are ideal however this is not a prerequisite.
What will you be doing?
• Working as part of the electrical team • Delivery of design, procurement and manufacture of electrical systems • Manage cabling & equipment suppliers • Ensuring cabling & equipment is kept on time, to cost and to high quality • Ensuring suppliers have the information they need
The experience you’ll bring
• Degree in relevant engineering subject or appropriate level of experience • Experience of working on a similar electrical project • Experience on a construction site is desirable • Prince 2 practitioner beneficial • Will need to be have or be able to obtain necessary security clearance
